Kevin & Bill on ‘On the Media’

Last week David Pogue’s New York Times technology blog came in dead last among the various news organizations covering the release of the RiffTrax player, and since the column was weeks late and covered no new ground, we let it go by.

However, our old pal Bob Garfield at WNYC’s “On the Media” saw the piece and apparently decided it was as good a reason as any to interview Bill and Kevin, so now I guess we have to mention it.

Weekend Discussion Thread: What Episodes Should Shout! Re-Release This Year?

Alert reader Kris writes:

What episodes should Shout Factory release, or re-release, in 2012? Or beyond? Boy, so much to choose from, right? Immediately, I’d say the big ones are “Mitchell” and “Diabolik,” but I’d also love to see re-releases for “Time Chasers,” “Bloodlust!” “The Deadly Mantis,” “Danger! Death Ray” and “Quest of the Delta Knights.

Here’s a vote for episode 506- EEGAH!

What’s your pick?

Josh Interview

Jeff Rubin of a podcast called “The Jeff Rubin Jeff Rubin Show” interviews Josh.

Rubin is personable but he clearly didn’t do any homework. Josh is patient with him, though.

Crowd Sourcing MSTory

The very observant among you may have noticed a new version of the block of boilerplate we always have at the bottom of a “This Date in MSTory” entry. We know that a number of you are bad movie buffs, and we’re hoping you can augment MSTory. Right now, the Internet Movie Database (IMDB), flawed as it is, is our basis for our MSTory info. But the gaps in the info are massive.

So, beginning today, if you see a single asterisk (*) after an entry in a MSTory post, that indicates that, according to the IMBD this person is alive. If you know otherwise, and can supply evidence that we can check that he or she has died, and when, please let us know.

If you see two asterisks (**) next to a birthday, the IMDB indicates that the person has died, but the IMDB does not have a full death date (probably just a month and year or just the year he or she died). If you can give us the exact date (with some sort of proof we can check), please let us know.

If you see two asterisks (**) next to a death date, the IMDB does not have this person’s full birthday. If you can provide it (with some sort of proof we can check), please let us know.

Thanks!
