An open thread for reports from tonight’s Cinematic Titanic shows at the Keswick Theater outside Philadelphia.
A couple of months ago, Joel did a phone interview with Ted Coe of a radio show called “The Freak Power Ticket,” on KCSB-FM, the radio station for the University of California Santa Barbara. I think it’s taken this long for them to get around to posting a recording of it.
Craig Ostroff of the Bucks Local News interviews Joel ahead of this weekend’s show at the Keswick Theater in suburban Philadelphia.
UPDATE: Amy A. Winnemore of the Delaware County News Network also has a short interview. Sidenote about the conversation that sprang up in this comments on this post: It is the policy of this site that people are entitled to their opinions and preferences, and as long as they express them in a respectful manner — respectful to fellow posters here and also to the performers they are discussing — this site has no problem with a civil debate. With a couple of notorious exceptions, you folks have done that admirably and we salute you. There are still a few people who are stuck in the winter of 1993. Our experience tells us that the best way to respond is to not respond. But if you must respond, keep in mind that it is not your preference or opinion, but the way you express it, that will determine whether or not your comment is deleted. Bruce Simmons at brusimm.com reviews the latest Cinematic Titanic title.
Louis Fowler at the Colorado Springs Independent also has a short but positive review. Here’s the latest schedule info (and I swear to God, Laura, if you post another sour comment to this I will ban you for life). • 12/30: Philadelphia area.–Keswick Theater. Two shows. “Astral Factor” (premiere) and “Frankenstein’s Castle of Freaks. 8 p.m. “$39.50-$58.50. ON SALE RiffTrax riffed some cut scenes from a video game called “Gears of War 3.” I wasn’t able to watch it on the IGN site (don’t know whether it was their site or my connection, but it wouldn’t play). But here it is.
