RiffTrax riffed some cut scenes from a video game called “Gears of War 3.” I wasn’t able to watch it on the IGN site (don’t know whether it was their site or my connection, but it wouldn’t play). But here it is.
The big day is here, so let’s share our MST3K Christmas traditions, and, remember, as Crow noted, there’s no tradition like a new tradition!
At my house the season always begins on Thanksgiving Day with “Santa Claus Conquers the Martians,” though lately I have been choosing the Cinematic Titanic version. I save “Santa Claus” for Christmas day. Between the two I always find time for the RiffTrax of the “Star Wars Christmas Special” (if Lucas finally breaks down and releases that, I guess they’ll have to re-edit their riff to remove the riffs on commercials).
TOLUCA LAKE, CALIF.–Robert Easton, a character actor whose command of foreign and American regional accents led to a flourishing second career as a dialect coach to Hollywood stars died of natural causes Friday, Dec. 16, at his home here. He was 81.
MSTies will remember him as Dan Kester in the movie in episode 810- THE GIANT SPIDER INVASION and as Mr. Keitel in episode 908- THE TOUCH OF SATAN, but he also did the voices of Phones and X20 in the movie in episode K01- INVADERS FROM THE DEEP, of which no fan copy exists.
His L.A. Times obit is here.
We’re happy to present the first ever RiffTrax Christmas special! In the spirit of the season (that is, delusional hysteria and madness) we’ve dug up some hilariously bizarre holiday oddities, all new to us and never-before riffed!
Join your hosts, Mike, Kevin, and Bill, as they:
*Exchange gifts, with vintage toy commercials
*Riff a new short, The Shanty Where Santy Claus Lives
*And riff the main event, Magic Christmas Tree!
Magic Christmas Tree is a fresh slice of holiday weird, sure to bring back cherished childhood memories. Remember how your parents used to tell that old Christmas tale of a boy who hit his head trying to help a witch retrieve a cat named Lucifer, hallucinated for months, and befriended a creepy, sarcastic tree? No? Well that’s probably for the best, you were a young, impressionable child. But you’re ready now!
Gather the family, get a bucket of eggnog, and settle in for Christmas with RiffTrax!
