Today is the fifth anniversary of the very first RiffTrax (for the record it was Mike’s solo riff of “Road House”). To celebrate its fifth birthday and say thanks to fans, they’ve announced that you can use coupon code GIMMEFIVE for 15 percent off all downloads!

By the way, the previously announced “Olde Tyme Shorts Roundup” and Shorts to Go were released this week.

Thursday, noon to 2 p.m.–Mike, Kevin and Bill will be signing autographs in the Sails Pavillion AA5.

Thursday, July 21, 7 p.m. at the Balboa Theatre–RiffTrax guys will take part in “w00tstock 3.0” with Paul & Storm and special guests Adam Savage and Wil Wheaton.

Weekend Discussion Thread: Favorite Credit Sequences

Alert reader Ken writes:

I’d like to know everyone’s favorite movie credit sequences. For example, Crow and Servo really take Mike to task during the interminable credit sequence at the end of Space Mutiny. (Crow: “You sitting there with your hair all feathered…”) It’s a priceless bit, and I’m sure fans have their favorites.

You can talk about opening or closing credits and you can discuss the credit sequence itself or the riffing thereof.

As for me, I can give my answer with one word: “Tusk!”

What’s your pick?

New Short from RiffTrax…

Brace yourself. This is one weird mama-jama.

Reviews and Stuff

Our pal Luigi Bastardo has a review of some recent Rifftrax and Cinematic Titanic titles.

As they seem to do every time a Transformers movie comes out, Entertainment Weekly’s website has a list of the Top 21 Hotshot Movie Robots”, and look who’s in at #13.

Also, Hellnotes.com is out with what I think is the first review (though it’s kind of general) of the upcoming “MST3K vs. Gamera” set from Shout.
