Another Show at the Colonial

The historic Colonial Theater in Phoenixville, Pa., has been showing MST3K episodes about once a month, and the next one is slated for Friday, May 20, at 9:45 p.m. The episode will be 1008- FINAL JUSTICE. There will be a “Cowboy/Joe Don Baker” costume contest beforehand (the winner gets a recent MST3K box set from Shout! Factory). More information here.

Update: Vol. XXI

A further note from Jordan Fields at Shout! Factory:

I’d completely forgotten about the MST Hour wraps for “Gamera” and “Gamera Vs. Guiron” until reading their responses to the extras. Fortunately there is still time to include, so I will. As for the KTMA host segs (or any footage from KTMA), I was not able to include.

Here’s an update Vol. XXI: “MST3K Vs. Gamera” (as it will be called). As you already know it will contain all five Gamera episodes: 302- GAMERA, 304- GAMERA VS. BARUGON, 308- GAMERA VS. GAOS, 312- GAMERA VS. GUIRON and 316- GAMERA VS. ZIGRA. It will be in a tin box. The street date is Aug. 2

The extras will be:
* So Happy Together: A Look Back at MST3K and Gamera
* Gamera Vs. The Chiodo Brothers
* Gamera Obscura: A Brief History by August Ragone (author of Eiji Tsuburaya: Master of Monsters)
* Original Japanese Trailers
* 5 limited edition mini-posters by artist Steve Vance

Yvette Vickers, RIP

BENEDICT CANYON, CALIF.–Former B-movie siren Yvette Vickers was found dead last week at her home here. Her mummified body appears to have gone undiscovered for months, police said. Vickers was 82. A neighbor discovered her body in an upstairs room of her home and the state of her remains indicates she may have died more than a year ago.
The official cause of death will by determined by the Los Angeles county coroner’s office, but police said they saw no sign of foul play.
An early Playboy playmate, she may be best remembered from her role in “Attack of the 50-Foot Woman.” MSTies will remember as sexy Liz Walker in the movie in episode 406- ATTACK OF THE GIANT LEECHES.
