Josh (who was in Minneapolis this weekend doing standup) was a guest on a Twin Cities radio show, “Weekends with Mike and Natalie,” and Joel called in from his birdsong-filled back yard.
Click on “Hour 2.” Josh’s interview starts about halfway through. Alert reader Scott writes:
And while we’re at it: What movie (never mind the rights issues) would you most like to see in an upcoming set? My thoughts: Even though some of the same people were at both places, it seems pretty clear to me that Shout “gets” MST3K more than Rhino did, especially at the end. The figurines alone show that. I don’t have a problem with the Roman numerals, and I think relying too heavily on the episode numbers might be too confusing for the casual buyer. As for extras, I would love to see all the TV specials and I really enjoy the introductions by the cast members. The interviews with cast members can be hit and miss, but they’re at their best when Shout is able to coax backstage info about the movie of the movie out of them. As for an episode I’d like to see, no question: 610- THE VIOLENT YEARS. What are YOUR thoughts? But really, would you want to eat, say, the ribs at a fondue restaurant? I ask you. Jeff McGinnis of the Toledo Blade interviewed us for his podcast, “Pop Goes the Podcast.” Our interview starts at about the 52 minute mark. There’s probably nothing in the interview that regulars here don’t already know, but we had fun doing it. The sound quality is a bit low, and most of the time Jeff didn’t really call on us when he asked a questions, so there are a couple of odd pauses as both Brian and I waited for each other to start talking, but other than that I think it went pretty well.
