No, we haven’t, so let’s! Who’s your favorite wimp in an MST3K movie or short? I’m gonna have to go with Buzz from “Mr. B Natural.” Ineffectual and a little creepy, he’s really no better at the end of the short, except he can play an instrument. What’s yours? • He was quoted in the New York Times only a short time ago, and he appears to be becoming the Times go-to guy on the topic of bad movies. He’s quoted again in a story in tomorrow’s paper about “Birdemic.”
• MST3K is also referenced, of course, in a story today about a “horrible movie night” at an L.A. theater. • And at Time.com, longtime MSTie Richard Corliss (who once gave us an award Update: Cinematic Titanic will do a show at the Showbox at the Market in Seattle, Friday, June 11. Doors open at 9:30 p.m. Tickets go on sale Saturday, March 27. They are $36 in advance, $40 at the door.
They will also do two shows at the Michigan Theater, 603 East Liberty St., in Ann Arbor, Mich., Friday, July 2 at 7:30 and 10 p.m. Tickets will be $20 per show or $30 for both shows (two different movies will be riffed). Tickets go on sale Monday, March 29 at 9 a.m. at the Michigan League ticket office (911 N. University Ave.) online at annarborsummerfestival.org or by calling (734) 764-2538. As a reminder, other Cinematic Titanic shows currently on the schedule are: • April 16: One show at the McCarter Theater in Princeton, NJ. at 8 p.m. The theater is holding a poll at their Web site for attendees to vote on what movie they will riff. Reserved seating! Tickets are $30-$25. Get tickets here. • April 17: One show (”Danger on Tiki Island”) at the Nokia Theater Times Square, New York City, 7 p.m. Tickets are $45-$35. Buy tickets here.
