 LOS ANGELES–Dame Angela Lansbury, the actress who for seven decades brought a commanding presence to stage, screen and television, died Oct. 11 at her home here. She was 96.

LOS ANGELES — Actor Austin Stoker, an immigrant from Trinidad who appeared in films including “Assault on Precinct 13,” “Battle for the Planet of the Apes,” “Sheba, Baby” and the ABC miniseries “Roots” died at a hospital here Oct. 7. He was 92.
MSTies will recall his performances as Dr. Ken Melrose in the movie in episode 405- BEING FROM ANOTHER PLANET and as a dive officer in the movie in episode 814- RIDING WITH DEATH. Berlin, Germany– German film director Wolfgang Kohlhaase, known for “Solo Sunny” (1980), “The Break” (1989) and “Summer in Berlin” (2005), died Oct. 5. He was 91.
MSTies may be aware that he was one of the screenwriters who adapted the Stanislaw Lem novel “The Astronauts” into the movie in episode 211- FIRST SPACESHIP ON VENUS. There are a few obits on the web but so far all of them are in German. Thanks to Gordon for the heads up. |
