 LOS ANGELES–Irving Gertz, a film and television composer who contributed music to 1950s science-fiction films and 1960s TV series, died at his home here Friday, Nov. 14. He was 93. Among his many scores, MSTies will remember his work on the movies in episodes 203- JUNGLE GODDESS, 802- THE LEECH WOMAN, 804- THE DEADLY MANTIS and 805- THE THING THAT COULDN’T DIE. There’s no mention of MST3K, but the article points out that the company got its start by rereleasing another TV show familiar to most MSTies: “Freaks and Geeks”
The RiffTrax site is now taking orders for “The Best of RiffTrax Shorts, Vol. 1.”
The DVD includes nine shorts: Monday is the 30th anniversary of The Star Wars Holiday Special and the L.A. Times has an article about that includes quotes from Mike Nelson (and mentions Kevin and Bill).
