Max the Hero was awarded the grand prize for “Best Animation” at last weekend’s 2008 United States Super 8 Film & Digital Video Festival held at Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey. Congratulations to Mike Salva, Bill, Kevin and Mike for the win!
We’ve noticed that Hugh at Deep Ape has noticed that jjb3k at the Discussion Board has noticed that the cover art for the upcoming release of MST3K: The Movie has popped up at Amazon. As several people have already observed, it looks like somebody easily spent a full ten minutes on it. Alert reader and longtime MSTie Dave sends this report of last night’s Cinematic Titanic launch party:
Thanks to Dave for the report! UPDATE: Another report here with some great photos. FURTHER UPDATE: And somebody snuck a video camera in… Tom Servo, Crow, Dr. F. and TV’s Frank have a cameo is the current issue of Electronic Gaming Monthly (March, issue #226). Seems the issue includes a picture puzzle in which a number of favorite sci-fi characters are depicted. Check out the group at the bottom right.
Here’s a close-up
Alert reader Nathan first told us about this, and alert reader Kristen later sent us the image. Bill informs us that if you step outside today (Feb. 9), tomorrow (Feb. 10) and/or Saturday, Feb. 16, and find yourself in the vacinity of Ukiah, Calif., you can go see a production of “Hate Mail,” a comedy he co-wrote, at the Ukiah Playhouse, 1041 Low Gap Road. They are, cleverly, alternating that show with performances of “Love Letters,” the play “Hate Mail” is sort of a response to (Sunday afternoon BOTH shows are being performed back-to-back!). Smart way to get people to come to the theater twice in one week! Call (707) 462-9226 for more information.
