…and if you thought THAT was horrifying, there’s always the Star Wars Holiday Special. The only thing that could make it survivable is the Rifftrax commentary track, which is now available for download.

The movie riffed will be 1972’s Brain of Blood. CT will be partnering with movie-download service EZTakes. The cast performed last night for Industrial Light & Magic staffers at George Lucas’ Presidio campus in San Francisco. Feeling left out? Don’t: A DVD of the invitation-only show will be sold as well, Wired says. UPDATE: Here’s a report from the live performance. FURTHER UPDATE: The initial release date of Dec. 10 has been pushed back. And they’ve added some “legacy” tees to the merch lineup, including the popular “Space Mutiny names” tee. Over at Rifftrax, they’ve announced something called “Rifftrax On Demand“–essentially downloadable versions of many of the DVDs Mike has done for Legend, including “Reefer Madness” “House on Haunted Hill,” “Night of the Living Dead”, etc. An interesting feature (to me at least): You have the option to purchase them, and own them forever, or rent them for 48 hours. Prices range from $2.99 to $12.99.
