Gavin Jasper at Den of Geek has a terrific wrap-up of as much as we know about the upcoming MSTie high holy days and beyond.
You can read the whole thing at the link above, but here are the highlights: Four of the episodes that will be shown are 410- HERCULES AGAINST THE MOON MEN, 505- THE MAGIC VOYAGE OF SINBAD, 513- THE BRAIN THAT WOULDN’T DIE and 816- PRINCE OF SPACE. There will be four other surprises chosen during the marathon! So far we know the titles for season 13 will include “Gamera vs. Jiger” (1970), “Robot Wars” (1993), “Demon Squad” (2019) and (probably) “Beyond Atlantis” (1973). More will he announced on Thursday. Unlike the Netflix seasons, the episodes will be released as they’re finished instead of dropping all of them at once for the sake of binging. Lee’s Summit, Missouri — Richard ‘Lowtax’ Kyanka, the founder of the controversial and influential web site Something Awful, died Nov. 9 at the age of 45. He reportedly took his own life.
Kyanka worked with Rifftrax several times. He was a guest riffer on the riff of “Troll 2,” released Feb. 2, 2007. He also was among the performers at the very first RiffTrax Live riff, of “Plan 9 from Outer Space,” on August 20, 2009. RiffTrax Live shows were quite a different animal in those early experimental days. The show’s had a host — internet personality Veronica Belmont. There were musical performances by Jonathan Coulton and Kyanka offered several videos. Kyanka also took part in the Rifftrax Live riffs of “Reefer Madness” on August 19, 2010, presenting several video segments, and the riff of “Jack the Giant Killer” on August 17, 2011. |
