Ian Curteis, RIP

Harrowgate, England–British dramatist Ian Curteis died at a hospital here Nov. 24. He was 86.

His career in television began as a script reader for both the BBC and Granada Television. Curteis joined the staff of the BBC as a trainee director in 1964.

MSTies will recall his role as director of the movie in episode 901- THE PROJECTED MAN (1966). Switching to a career as a television dramatist from the late 1960s onwards, Curteis wrote for many series of the time, including “The Onedin Line” and “Crown Court.”

The Guardian has the story.

Thanks to Paul for the heads up.

Turkey Day Preview

Gavin Jasper at Den of Geek has a terrific wrap-up of as much as we know about the upcoming MSTie high holy days and beyond.

You can read the whole thing at the link above, but here are the highlights:

Four of the episodes that will be shown are 410- HERCULES AGAINST THE MOON MEN, 505- THE MAGIC VOYAGE OF SINBAD, 513- THE BRAIN THAT WOULDN’T DIE and 816- PRINCE OF SPACE.

There will be four other surprises chosen during the marathon!

So far we know the titles for season 13 will include “Gamera vs. Jiger” (1970), “Robot Wars” (1993), “Demon Squad” (2019) and (probably) “Beyond Atlantis” (1973). More will he announced on Thursday.

Unlike the Netflix seasons, the episodes will be released as they’re finished instead of dropping all of them at once for the sake of binging.
