ENGLAND — Alan Hawkshaw, who composed music for 35 films and many television shows, died at a hospital here on Oct. 16. He was 84.He also composed tunes for the pop group The Shadows which toured with the Rolling Stones. He was also sampled by many artists, including rapper Jay-Z. MSTies will remember his work on the music that was used in the short PROGRESS ISLAND U.S.A., featured in episode 621- THE BEAST OF YUCCA FLATS. Thanks to Tim for the heads up.

Stuntman Bob Herron, who did stunts for on films such as “Diamonds Are Forever,” “L.A. Confidential” and “Batman Forever” died Oct. 10. He was 97. MSTies may be aware that he wore monster suits in the movies in episodes 803- THE MOLE PEOPLE and 108- THE SLIME PEOPLE (he also did stunts in the latter film). Thanks to Gordon for the heads up. |
