Posted by Sampo, on August 25th, 2021  LONDON — When Charlie Watts, the legendary drummer for the Rolling Stones, died on Aug. 24 (he was 80) in hospital here, I wasn’t sure there was a MSTory connection. But I was reminded of conversation about drummers in a host segment in episode K18- THE MILLION EYES OF SU-MURU. So all we can do is remove his asterisk and say RIP.
 Actor Masanari Nihei, who played Jerry in the movie in episode K14- /314- MIGHTY JACK died on Aug. 21; he was also 80. He was perhaps best known in a number of Japanese TV shows starring Ultraman.
We’ve found brief mentions (in Japanese) but nothing like an official obituary. If you see one, let us know.
Posted by Sampo, on August 19th, 2021  Kimitsu City, Japan — Actor and martial artist Sonny Chiba died at a hospital here Aug. 19, due to pneumonia caused by COVID-19. He was 82.
A pivotal figure in the 1970s explosion of martial arts cinema, he is perhaps best known as the “fists for hire” trouble shooter Takuma (Terry) Tsurugi in the popular “Street Fighter” series of action films.
MSTies know him for his portrayal of Ironsharp a.k.a. Space Chief in the movie in episode 819- INVASION OF THE NEPTUNE MEN.

Posted by Sampo, on August 10th, 2021  MEXICO CITY–Roger Cudney, A prolific actor in movies and Spanish-language telenovelas, died July 5 at a hospital here from complications following a serious car accident in May. He was 85.
His movie roles included “Total Recall,” “License to Kill,” “The Arrival” and “Remo Williams: The Adventure Begins.” MSTies will remember that he played Inaros in the movie in episode 703- DEATHSTALKER AND THE WARRIORS FROM HELL.
This report may need some translation.
