  3. Jill Schoelen is in a few of my favorite 80’s B horror flicks: The Stepfather, Popcorn and Phantom of the Opera (with Robert Englund as the titular fiend). This will be the only other thing I’ve seen her in. Looks like she retired from scream queening with this movie.

Featuring the late Charles Durning. Career low? That’s what you get for trying to eat Kermit.

My girlfriend made me watch this movie in junior high, and I have to admit that it was delightful. I’ve been looking for it on DVD just because it made us laugh. Now she is my wife, and we can’t wait to watch this VOD. Thank you, RiffTrax!

This movie features a profoundly creepy stage act. I remember it being well made but left me wondering just what the heck I’d just watched and what the heck it meant.

Cheapy company Mill Creek has the original on blu ray with Happy Birthday to Me (with Mary Ingals) taggin along for a nifty double feature. The cover art for HBtM on the case is the same as the disappointing first DVD release with really lame music changes. As a fan of the film, I can tell you the blu ray has the second release version with music intact. I’m not sure how much of an improvement the bluray is over the DVD, but I was happy. It was 5 skins at wally world. That’s some budget blu ray flickin right there! And let me be the only one (probably) to say the remake of When a Stranger Calls is suspenseful and fun. Unlike the original, which is a little tedious in the middle part, the remake tries new things that make it better for me.

I just remember little bitties of this sequel. Would actually like to see it with and without RT skewering.

Put me with the fans of both these ladies. Kane is among my favs, Scrooged, Transylvania 6-5000, jsut anything. I even know she was topless in The Last Detail with Nicholson and Quaid… And that other actress is just right in Stepfather. I kind of had a crush on her when I first saw it on cable. I would have defender her against Scary Jerry if the whole thing was real. *shows arm muscles* Oh yeah…

The running joke about tea in the teabag and the final joke are highlights. Good stuff.

Ok. So let me get this straight. This movie is the sequel to a remake?

No, silly, this is a sequel to a movie that was remade. Now they should do a RiffTrax for the remake.

So, I’m guessing the film wasn’t supposed to make any sense?

Plot holes galore, crazy non-characters, and absolutely no motivation for the bad guy. Am I close here?

Whew! I was afraid this was gonna be another creepy psycho slasher flick a la that Chuck Connors monstrosity, but this one is waaaaay too incompetent to make anyone uncomfortable.

Our lead character is so whiny and annoying that somewhere around the 10 minute mark, you start rooting for the killer.

And a movie that spends the first 27 minutes on backstory? Editing gold, I tells ya!

    and this:

All absolutely true. By the end we know NOTHING MORE about the bad guy than we did before we start the movie. He might just as well be an earthquake or a bad virus for all that it matters.

Or maybe they should just have named him MacGuffin.

… and what the heck ever happened to the kids!??

@14: If he’s still technically a character, I think that makes him an O’Guffin.

I’ve seen the original Black Christmas 4 times, but not the original WASC; is the former the very first movie where the calls are coming from inside the house?
