It conquered the world (w/ Snow Thrills short!)
    The painted hills
    I was a teenage werewolf
    Track Of the moon beast

That box set would make the world a better place.

Easy, go for the Old Teen set. Daddy-O and Girls Town (teens falsely accused, some nifty songs & teens dancing), along with Horror of Party Beach and I Was a Teenage Werewolf (teens endangered, stupid monsters/adults the problem, lame dancing). I’d buy that set.

The Mike Nelson: Destroyer of Worlds Set, with The Deadly Mantis, The She Creature, Riding with Death, and Agent from HARM. Now that Universal is oklaying episodes with their titles, get to it, Shout.

I’ve been waiting for this one!

Firstly, I would create, at long last, a “fan favorites” set, including
those episodes we’ve been waiting for for so long:
    1: Rocketship XM
2: Fire Maidens of Outer Space
    3: Outlaw of Gor
    4: Pumaman

Next, I wouldn’t be able to keep myself from making a giant monster set:
    1: The Black Scorpion
2: Godzilla vs the Sea Monster
    3: The Deadly Mantis
    4: Gorgo

Then I’d make ANOTHER fan favorites set:
1: Attack of the The Eye Creatures
2: The Day the Earth Froze
    3: Riding With Death
    4: Horror of Party Beach

In addition, based on Shout!’s recent deals with Universal and MGM, I’d design a set that might look something like this:
    1: Being From Another Planet
    2: Outlaw of Gor
3: The Amazing Transparent Man (or The Incredible Melting Man)
4: The Leech Woman (or The Deadly Mantis)

Here’s hoping at least one of these episodes is in volume XXVII! :)

No real theme to this one, just four of my favorite underrated classics:

    – The Human Duplicators
    – The Painted Hills
    – Colossus and the Headhunters
    – The Incredible Melting Man

All four of these episodes make me laugh like a lunatic, but the average fan response to all of them seems to be middling-to-negative. Doesn’t matter, though, I’d still watch ’em over and over :D

I can barely add to all the wonderful selections so far, my faves being the various giant bug/deadly bug sets, but will add:

    It’s the Crap-tastic ’70s! set:
    — Puma Man (OK, technically released in 1980 but must have been filmed in ’79, and is full of ’70s cheese)
    — Riding with Death (because it’s… Ben Murphy)
    — Squirm (rampant unattractiveness of the ’70s)
    — Stranded in Space (drab, drabber, drabbest… yep, it’s the ’70s!)

The “Roger Corman Doesn’t Want This Set Released” Set:

I can’t think of a foursome that hasn’t already been covered, so instead I’ve come up with a set comprised of two themes: 70s TV/Gruesome Twosome!

The 70s TV, naturally, would be Riding With Death & San Francisco International.
The Gruesome Twosome would be Squirm & The Incredible Melting Man.

If we’re talking personalised sets, though, my foursome would be:
    Riding With Death
    San Francisco International
    Diabolik
    The Slime People

But, really, any 4 episodes would be good. :-)

  17. Stoneman says:

My two sets would be a Joel set and a Mike set.

Joel: Rocketship X-M; It Conquered The World; Being From Another Planet; The Day The Earth Froze.

Mike: Girls Town; Deathstalker and the Warriors from Hell; Riding with Death; The Puma Man.

Some great list suggestions here, and I especially like the “Mike Nelson: Destroyer Of Worlds” set. Very clever. But personally, out of all those remaining episodes I love so much, I was able to narrow it down to two sets I would kill for. Nothing clever here, just what I want the most.

SET 1 – Village Of The Giants, San Francisco International, The Incredible Melting Man, and The Leech Woman.

SET 2 – Riding With Death, The Horror Of Party Beach, Squirm, and Diabolik.

I’m a big horror film nut, and I love what Shout Factory has done with their new cult horror film label, Scream Factory. They release cult classic horror that has never really seen the light of day. As it turns out, they now have the rights to release “The Incredible Melting Man” later this year as a special edition blu-ray, with all the extras they have become known for. Since Scream Factory is owned by Shout, I don’t see why they couldn’t use the rights for a MST3K set, but I’m no expert when it comes to the details in the deals they make. Here’s hoping!

The ‘I’d Buy This Set Immediately’ Set:

    Puma Man
12 To The Moon (w/ Life After MST3k: Bridget Nelson)
    Radar Secret Service
    The Day The Earth Froze

Those are my four favorite episodes not yet on DVD, and would finally force me to buy a set.

I know it’s an all-Mike box set, but we’re getting to the point where all-Mike or all-Joel sets are likely to happen.

I’d go for another pattern like Shout did for Volume 19, even if some titles are hard to reach…. so I’d go for…

    Rocketship X-M
    Rocket Attack U.S.A
    The Amazing Colossal Man
    The Amazing Transparent Man

Rockets and Amazing Men, folks. Plus, Shout already made 2 boxsets with 3 Mike episodes…. how about 3 Joel episodes now? :P

#4 Great job all sets look cool. I’d still like to see a SHORTS set all 3 volumes and maybe all the songs and host segments. I really like the RADAR MEN FROM THE MOON set, it’s a long ride, I tend to fall asleep when I watch it at night. But I love the way it’s set up, the 3 GENERAL HOSPITAL shorts would be great one after the other. I’ve been wanting to see how many episodes are left, I couldn’t believe 62 episodes are still out there and I only hope and pray they do them all in any order.

  26. The Great Gonzo says:

My dream set would probably go something like this. We’d start with a classic Joel episode, “Daddy-O”. Next, “Fire Maidens from Outer Space” for the awesome Timmy story. Then, that 70s turkey, “Riding with Death”. And, finally, (the what I find to be under appreciated)”IT Lives By Night”. Of course, there are so many more awesome episodes that haven’t been released, but I have to go with the ones that immediately stood out to me as I read the list.

TrickyMutha, you beat me to it. I love the idea of a Sodium Set, and I love your “Regression” set, with 4 movies with the same plot! I also endorse an “Old teens” collection, many to choose from both Mike and Joel eps. My list is the MST “By the Numbers” theme:

    Moon Zero Two
    12 to the Moon
    Escape 2000
    Terror from the Year 5000

Nice mix of early and late MST, B&W and color, and the numbers go up numerically as well as chronologically! !!!!!!

Eventually I think we’ll see some reissues sprinkled into future Shout! sets. Probably near the end of the run, when the Over My Dead Body rights-level episodes (the Cormans, Godzilla) are left.

OK, Robby and Michael might not have technically “child” stars, but they were still teenagers when they started out. Close enough.

@4 – I second the Soviet box, if only as an excuse to get Moon Zero Two out of Hammer limbo. :)

Of course, we all know the Shouts will really end up being pairs of two themed titles (to get the demographic mix of CC and SyFy), but plenty of helpful suggestions here.

    The Vixens Box Set

Teenage Crime Wave (He’d never touch you, Terry. You’re dirt)
The Undead (Alison Hayes as the sexiest witch ever)
    Leech Woman (Neil! Neil!)
Girl’s Town (Mamie van Hooter, er – Doren)

Not only that, but there is a special bonus movie: Wild Guitar. All the MST alums have returned to riff another Arch Hall Jr. movie! That’s right, Joel, Mike, Trace’s Crow, Mike Corbett’s Crow, Josh’s Servo, and Kevin’s Servo all appear in the theater together to riff away! How? Evil Mike from episode 611, Last of the Wild Horses has found a way back to our reality, and this causes a rip in the space/time continuum, so all the different crews find themselves pulled back to the past on the SOL to battle evil Mike! And what’s that? TVs Frank and Dr. Forrester are also there, on Evil Mike’s side? How will our heroes prevail?
    A man can dream, can’t he? :)

as well as the same with THE AMAZING COLOSSAL MAN and WAR OF THE COLOSSAL BEAST,
