Nigel Davenport, RIP

Davenport Nigel Davenport, the veteran British actor who appeared in the Oscar-winning classics such as “A Man for All Seasons” and “Chariots of Fire” during a career that spanned more than a half-century, has died. He was 85. Longtime MSTies will remember him as Ernest Hubbs in the movie in episode K09- PHASE IV.

A nice long British-style obit is here.

I have watched Phase 4 more times than I can remember. Thank you Nigel Davenport. May a legion of hyper intelligent ants escort you to the sweet hereafter.

I really like Phase IV too. It is an interesting movie on it’s own- but, fun to watch with JTB. Nigel Davenport is great in it, and, was good in “Man for all seasons”, one of my favorites. RIP to another great one.
