I presume the single-disk version will include the extras that were previously talked about (I doubt they would go to the trouble of mastering a separate release).

Rhino Greenlights “Gila Monster” Single DiskSatellite News has learned that Rhino WILL be offering episode 402- THE GIANT GILA MONSTER as a single disk, in addition to its inclusion in the re-released MST3K Collection Vol. 10. The disk will only be available for a limited time, but for those who purchased the original Vol. 10 before it was recalled, this will save you some hard-earned dough.

Since I took the time to complain I suppose I should take the time to properly thank Rhino as well.
So here is a big thank to Rhino for listening to the fans and customers. I will definitely be preordering this as I usually do. And while I really hope the extras are there, I will still be happy even if they aren’t.

I don’t know if it was my e-mail that tipped off MST3K info, but I got an e-mail about it from Rhino about it.
Presently there is no news other than the fact that it will be made available for a limited time through the Rhino website.
The e-mail I had gotten from Dr. Rhino said to check their website for upcoming news regarding this.
I’m sure MST3Kinfo.com will post this info when the disc becomes available.

My original guess was GGM to be on Volume 13..
I am so very happy that I can sing whenever I sing whenever I sing..a single DVD of GGM ..awesome !
I mailed about this as well and got my reply this morning which I forwarded to the guys at TVonDVD.com. I’ve signed up to both newsletters to make sure I get the news. I’ve already ordered the episode from a homebrew site, but it was only a few bucks so I’m happy to be out it to get the official release.
Hopefully they’ll remember us international fans and there won’t be issues posting overseas (I didn’t have any problems getting my replacement Killer Shrews DVD, so I shouldn’t think so).
This is great news. I was really on the fence about what to do. I very much wanted to support the release of MST3K episodes, but I also didn’t want to support the idea of rereleasing sets in this manner.
Great job Rhino – you’ve continuously shown a lot of class with releases such as this.

Echoing what everyone else has said, I’m really impressed with the class and business savvy of RHINO. Like their quick and responsible solution to the KILLER SHREWS problem, they’ve shown once again that they LISTEN and they CARE. I myself called their toll free hotline and left a message about wanting the Gila Monster single disc, and I did it because I believed they’d listen.
And once again, they didn’t let me, or their thousands of loyal customers, down. I will now buy both the single disc and the 10.2 boxed set as a thank you.

Rhino has always been our good friend. Just think of all the great episodes we get to enjoy in DVD quality. In spite of a few glitches in the past (most of which they fixed in short order) this show might not still be alive without them. I salute them for this latest move!

This is very good news. I’m just kind of surprised that Rhino apparently didn’t anticipate the reaction they’d get when they announced 10.2 without an option for getting GGM alone. They could have avoided a lot of frantic calls and e-mails if they’d used just a little foresight.
Well, this is unfortunate (or fortunate since it means it won’t just be available from Amazon perhaps?). Response I got when I asked if they’d support international fans of the show:

Great! I feared that I would have to get the whole box set just to get “Gila Monster” while I already had the original set with “Godzilla”. Now I can just get the single episode. Good job, Rhino! :mrgreen: Too bad us “Twin Peaks” fans are screwed with that new box set that came out with the never released pilot after they had already put out box sets of seasons 1 & 2 w/o the pilot. Now we have to get that whole $60 new set for the pilot :evil:
