I think in one of the MST3K specials it showed them watching this movie in the writing room…glad Rifftrax got around to doing this one…

Oddly enough, this film has already been riffed. Sort of.

Written, produced, directed by and starring some guy you’ve never heard of. From Hal Warren to Tommy Wiseau that’s always a reliable recipe for riffing.

I was so happy when I got the email about this one yesterday b/c I like this movie. I didn’t have a copy of it (I rented it from Amazon Prime a while back) and now I have a copy and it’s riffed so that’s perfect. I loved the ‘flag on the moon’ reference – awesome! I laughed so hard a few times I had to pause it. I like the cheesy 70s movies they’ve done but 1950s B+W monster movies are some of my fave MST3K’s and just fave type of movie in general.

“Flag on the Moon”…It does have kind of a Colman Francis feel to it.

I had to explain to my husband why I was dying over the the “flag on the moon” reference because I have never subjected him to The Beast of Yucca Flats before so he didn’t get it (not sure if he could handle that one!).

I bought this because of the “Flag on the Moon” riff. That was one of my favorite odd moments and to hear it riffed at the movie was enough . . .

It’s a shame this wasn’t released in the era when they transposed their faces onto the cover art. Would’ve been great with Bill as the HSD and Mike as a concerned nurse.

Wow, that had better be a future RiffTrax VOD.

  15. Doug Glassman says:

Alienator is so depressing because Jan-Michael Vincent is clearly drunk every moment he’s on screen. PJ Soles’ ridiculous non-outfit (if you’ve seen the movie you know what I mean) makes up for it somewhat.

Can’t wait to watch Hideous Sun Demon later today.

Nice to see a good old 50s monster movie riff offering.

@2- Wow…I had completely forgotten that parody. Don’t even recall if it was good or bad, but definitely rented it on VHS ages ago…appears it was kind of like the “J-Men Forever” or “Fractured Flickers” where they relooped the dialogue. Wonder if it’s still available.

    Whoa.

Not sure I can handle this one.

I had to turn it off and grab a relaxing beverage after the thrilling “Excuse me, young man, but would you mind passing me that magazine?” sequence.

This isn’t just scary – it’s Count Floyd scary!

    Bbbbbbbbbthgh!!!
