This is great news and a great selection!Looking forward to it.

As we get closer to completing the series (!) there’s an ironic warning: the Simpsons producers have announced that they’re not going to be releasing DVDs anymore, as the “DVD market is dying”!Maybe MST3K fans are the exception that really supports DVD releases, but just as we’re getting down to the final episodes, the format situation may change again.Hopefully this just means that we’ll have as many download or streaming options in the future?

As a longtime Simpsons DVD buyer and fan of the series up to this day, I have a strong feeling that there is something the producers are not telling us. Notice Simpsons World released 2 months before the last DVD release. Did they not think that a streaming collection of the full series would not hurt sales? Not to mention they really do go all out on the production – releasing an SD series in both DVD and blu-ray with commentaries, deleted scenes (with integration), menus featuring new animation, double sided panorama packaging, limited edition molded head packaging. I mean, it must cost a lot to produce each season, and it feels like they put more money into the packaging and presentation as the releases went on despite the later seasons being less popular.

What they need to do is shift to a manufacture on demand model for seasons 18+, have it be DVD only to cut costs and potentially be bare bones (although I will miss the deleted scenes, I feel the commentaries lost steam at around season 13 when they ran out of things to talk about and now it’s a lot of off topic stuff and inside jokes). Several FOX tv shows already do this, including American Dad! which has been MOD DVD for the past two seasons.

Regarding MST3K: awesome news on the episode lineup, and with no more Simpsons DVDs releasing I now have shelf space for Shout’s upcoming releases!

Daddy-O and Teen-Age Crime Wave aren’t my usual cup but I’ll watch ’em, and Earth vs the Spider most definitely is relevant to my interests. And Agent for H.A.R.M. is one of my favorite episodes! Gerd yer Oswald, boys!

@Barry the Nomad–perhaps you’re right, it just seems like we’re getting down to the end (3+ more years of releases at this rate?) of both MST3K on DVD, and DVDs themselves. I could be wrong (i’m always a step behind media options) but i have a feeling the last MST DVD Shout produces might well be the last DVD many of us buy! (Just hoping they don’t go all-digital before that, too.)

There’s been quite a few other shows that stopped putting out DVDs before they had put out all seasons, so I don’t think DVD is quite dead yet.

Isn’t EYE CREATURES in MGM’s Court? At least, that’s what someone said on another MST3K message board

“MGM owns the rights to THE EYE CREATURES. Though I could totally see Susan Hart making a claim on the film, I don’t know how much power she’d really have over it. She [SHOULD] just not care…”

“Agent” is one of those eps that I always forgot right after I watched it. “Crime Wave” is alright and I always enjoy “Earth vs. the Spider”. But, the big news for me here is “Daddy-O”! YAY!!!! Time to hike my pants up and enjoy some good laughs! :-D

rvoyttbots, I have all of these episodes on DVRs from old VHS tapes, but I would love a proper release of Teenage Caveman and Fire Maidens. 2 absolute classics. I’m just glad they keep them coming. I hold out hope they one day release some of the KTMA shows.

    Watch out for snakes.

I love HARM, and Daddy-O, and Teen-age Crime Wave is another favorite, I am not as fond of Earth Versus The Spider (probably my phobia of creepy crawlers). But, hey it’s a good collection and they’ve cracked the Arkoff estate which to quote Roscoe P. Coltraine (played by the late James Best) is “Good News! Good News!”.

Since the box sets that these films are so rare I’d like to see 104 Women From…, 207 Wild Rebels,
212 Godzilla, & 613 Sinister rereleased. Not all of us were able to get the Volume 9 & 10 boxes.

Good catch!! The good news is 524 – 12 to the Moon would be in the top category “Will be on future sets” since it’s a Sony one, according to previous right-holders lists.
