Weekend Discussion Thread: ‘It’s a little known fact…’

Alert reader Stacy suggests:

How about a game of “It’s a little known fact?” For example, it’s a little known fact that if you caught him in the right mood, the Master WOULD approve of something. Or it’s a little known fact that Rowsdower once drank a light beer.

Is this a thing? It’s a little known fact that I am old. I assume that it is a thing. Have at it!

… that Mitchell is, in real life, a hard-bodied Chippendale’s dancer. It’s the camera that adds 140 pounds.

It’s a little known fact that Herc didn’t really drink from the Waters of Forgetfulness. He just wanted to take a short vacation in the land of the Nymphs.

It’s a little known fact that you live under a bridge.

It’s a little known fact that Senya wasn’t really a Grimault warrior, and the real ones regularly subjected him to swirlies and double jock locks.

It’s also a little known fact that, when your internet service goes out, it’ll be on a Saturday morning so that it can’t be dealt with until Monday.

Little known fact: The thick black goo that threatened the heroes of “First Spaceship On Venus” was not in the original script. The studio’s sewage system backed up onto the sound stage, and the director decided to keep it in the movie.

Little known fact: The Colossal Beast, the Blood Beast, and the Beast of Yucca Flats all had sandwiches named after them, at Hollywood’s famous Brown Derby restaurant.

The “Colossal Beast” was an extra large sub with a bite out of one end. The “Blood Beast” was a blood sausage on a bun. The “Beast of Yucca Flats” was a huge, misshapen lump of dough.

  13. Forming an arc north of Champaign, Illinois, the Rantoul Mountains are one of North America’s least known geographic features. The mountains are nearly treeless, and look nothing like Southern California.

It’s a little known fact that Fidel Castro’s beard really was fake and that he personally fought off the Bay of Pigs invaders with his trusty small caliber pistol.

And, as the aftermath of the invasion left Cuba’s economy in a perilous state, he moonlighted as a henchman for a fortune teller in Long Beach, California.

“The Wild, Wild World of Batwoman” was originally going to be set in the 1870s. Batwoman was going to team up with a pair of clever government agents and battle robotic gunfighters. The title was supposed to be “The Wild Wild Westworld of Batwoman”. Sadly, the movie’s minuscule budget forced the producers to drop this idea and remove “west” from the title.
