Not much older than me. Shows us just how precious life is and that we should let the people we love know it, and as often as possible. Married once and for keeps – quite an accomplishment these days.

Though MST never riffed any of Swayze’s films, Rifftrax sure did. Road House is “Mike’s first made-for-Rifftrax commentary track” (according to Skenderberg; the first two were Plan 9 and Night of Living Dead, recorded for Legend Films). Mike later tackled Point Break and Red Dawn (with the very funny Joel McHale). I recommend all three of these riffs as they are all enjoyable, if a little dumb, films to begin with and Swayze, in his prime, was a god among men. Rifftrax Presents have also done chick-flick favorites Dirty Dancing and Ghost.

Wait, no, that’s a terrible plan.
I remember seeing Point Break in the theater when it came out (1992? 93?) I was about 18 or so then, and I was in complete awe of Swayze and company. I mean, Keanu, two Red Hot Chili Peppers, Lori Petty (yeah, I thought she was hot, at least until Tank Girl – yuk!). Hell, it even had Gary Busey! Instead of ordering popcorn, I just got a shot of Testosterone at the snack bar! I held that film in such high esteem for about 5 years, until I actually sat down and watched it again. Maybe it was the more intimate setting of my apartment, perhaps I had matured a bit(unlikely), but I could not believe how corny that film is. But, much like Road House, it’s simply perfect-in it’s own bizarre way- at being the kind of film it is. Absolut Swayze.
This Christmas, me and my friends will remember Pat by decorating a bar stool and gathering around and singing!
