This is actually finally enough motivation to let iTunes update itself like it has been wanting to do for months. Stupid iTunes. But yaaaay MST3K downloads!

If only iTunes Store videos weren’t DRM’ed to death this would be a great option for people who couldn’t get the DVDs. Personally the restrictive DRM keeps me from ever buying iTunes videos. If Apple opened it up a little so that other companies could make their hardware compatible with their DRM then I would probably buy stuff from iTunes to watch, but I’m definitely not dropping a couple hundred on yet another set top box (AppleTV) just to watch iTunes videos on my TV. The PS3 I already own would be able to handle any iTunes videos with no problem (I watch video podcasts and 1080p HD trailers from Apples website on my PS3 all the time), except that the DRM stops them from working.

I thought iTunes got rid of DRM. Or was that only for music?

#6, i run a $20 AV-to-TV cable from the mac store between my ipod (nano or classic) and my TV, and presto, movie player. No muss, no fuss, and a great option for people who don’t have the DVDs to try out some MST3K.
