The RiffTrax Live guys have announced the name of the movie they will riff at the first RiffTrax Live Online show Thursday, Dec. 16. It is “Santa and the Ice Cream Bunny.”

It ain’t about the money for me … I was just looking forward to this.
What’s to say they won’t have the same problem 12/16 when they have the big show and I have to shell out enough coin to make it (at least in part) about the money.
Also, will we at least get the downloadable short somehow?
I sorta suspected that the announcement was suppose to be a test run to make sure their system could handle the traffic.. and it failed miserably. Again. :-(

I was going to buy my ticket, but I was worried that the site wouldn’t be able to handle the traffic. Glad it is this popular, but too bad the site had to go and crash.
I wonder why this happens every single time. It happened with Planet of the Dinosaurs, and I’m still sad we never got to see a live riff of that.

How much is a ticket to this live show? I couldn’t get it to show me that earlier.
I still can’t login or even find where to buy a ticket. This is getting annoying. I downloaded the short over a week ago, but I want my ticket for the live show. How about showing us fans some respect here Rifftrax?
Can someone please point me in the direction to where you purchase tickets? I can’t find that part of the site anywhere. I wasn’t able to attend the live announcement.

I just emailed “support” at Rifftrax to let them know I can’t buy a ticket, or even find where to.
Sorry about the screwup everyone. Everything was fine from a streaming/production standpoint, but it looks like something with our site or server is still not where we thought it was.
Erik is working to make sure the site is operating as usual. If you paid for the short, it will be added soon, as soon as he is able to do so. You’ll be able to download it from My Files.
We’ll keep you posted regarding the 12/16 live show. The plan was to have tickets available to buy right away, but obviously that didn’t work out. Not sure how we are going to proceed from here, but we’ll be sure to update you if they become available. May have to wait until Monday though to find out where that stands.
I bought my ticket for today’s live short, but then something came up and I had to miss it, so I came here to see what’s going down with the announcement, and was sad to hear the reports of more problems. They must have a gremlin or curse or something over there. Still I can’t wait to see the new short. I hope it’s added to my files section soon.
Also I don’t think people need to be worried about their money should this live show get messed up somehow. They more than made it up to everyone after the whole Planet of Dinosaurs thing, so it’s not like it would just be money down the drain. Lets hope this one goes off without a hitch though, because that movie sounds awesome by it’s title alone.

SANTA AND THE ICE CREAM BUNNY would have been big box office if they had gone the “Live in Theaters” route. This had been a movie everyone was dreaming for a riff treatment. Although, I will still opt to get the show on the 16th (if it still goes) I doubt from today’s incident that it will go off smoothly.

This movie has been on my riffing wishlist for years… hopefully the live “show” goes off without a hitch.
(And by “this movie” I meant “Santa & The Ice Cream Bunny”. I wouldn’t subject myself to the “Twilight” saga unless THEY paid ME.) :)
mstgator… the Twilight movies are awful, and unwatchable on their own, but they have also been two of the best Rifftrax. I can’t wait to hear their take on the next one.

I first saw the unbelievable cinematic oddity that is Santa & the Ice Cream Bunny about 3 years ago linked from ‘Something Weird video’ & thought “too bad i’ll never see the guys riff this one”

When CT visited town and I’d gotten to meet the crew, I’d wanted to ask Joel the question of “Why do Santa/Martians again, when there’s still so much more unexplored Christmas nightmare fuel, like S&tICB?”
As it happens, I never got to ask that, but I’ve since heard it quoted that Joel said that even the Titanic crew found it painful beyond riffing.
Finally found it on YouTube after years of looking, and it’s not lightly that I confirm its reputation as “the Manos of kiddie matinees”–The cinematography, editing, acting, post-dubbing and use of backwoods tourist locales are almost identical.
Finally got to see the short UNTO THE LEAST OF THESE. Probably not one I would have bought knowing what it was, but I at least got my 99 cents worth.
I guess they are still holding off with replaying the S&TEB announcement until they are sure that the bugs are worked out.
Anyone get the MANIAC dvd yet? Usually they are quick with the shipping. Hopefully today.
