Doh, probably should have looked at the payment methods before I signed up for the contest. Totally thought there’d be a Paypal option. Ignore me! Ignore my entry! Though it would be hilarious to win without even having watched the damn thing!

Hard alcohol and riffing. This should be an excellent combination. Can’t wait.

Didn’t they say once that they tried drinking in the writers room on MST3K once and it turned out very badly?

I really wish they would record these and rebroadcast them or sell them on DVD or something. For those of us who actually still have 9 to 5 jobs.

I’d pay to watch them try grain alcohol filtered through a piece of burnt toast, as was talked about during the end credits of Soultaker.

I would totally skip school to see this. Who needs to learn inequalities, anyway?

The last time I had a “Vodka Smackdown”, I left about 10 drunk voicemails on my boyfriend’s phone. I have a feeling this one will end just as badly.

So let’s see……..couldn’t that be considered a ‘RUI’ (Riffing Under the Influence)???

Argh. I can’t seem to buy a ticket. My credit card providers don’t want to accept the charge. The cards I’ve tried are valid and have more than enough available. (It might be the fact that the amount is 99 cents.)

You guys didn’t miss much. The short was truly bizarre, but everything else was blah.

What short did they do? And was bacon vodka imbibed?
    Thank you, won’t you?

Oh boy….just saw in my email they’ll be riffing Warriors of the Wasteland next. Haven’t seen it and never heard of it before but an Italian post-apocalyptic biker movie with Fred Williamson? Like a dream come true…

Holy crap! It’s directed by the same guy who did Escape 2000 (leave the bronx). Was this worth a third post in a row or what?

Mike screwed up the name of the VOD last night. He called it “Warriors of the Lost World.” Not that I blame him. I thought the same thing when I first saw it.

The good: The short was great, crazy fun. Loved the new format of having them super-imposed on the bottom of the screen. Hope they use that again!

The bad: The ‘Vodka Smackdown’ was lame. I thought they were going to get ****faced and then riff the short but twas not to be. Kevin was the only one who looked like he was having fun, and Bill was just confused about the whole thing (but in a charming, funny way). At the end it wasn’t even clear who won the “Smackdown”.

But my biggest complaint was that the sound on the pre-recorded stuff was horrible. The opening clip of (I think) New Barbarians was garbled beyond recognition. the quick cut to Conor Lastowka as Rifftrax security had crappy sound, as did the little Transformers 3 skit. I was really starting to dread that the sound on the short would be funked up but the audio on that was fine.

If they could fix those issues I would feel more confident paying for future live broadcasts.

I loved the Vodka smackdown. I like being able to just watch them have fun with each other like normal people.
