It’s got nothing to do with MST3K but attention span and the loss of discipline (ah now I truly feel all of my 50 years).

I riff the movie in my head but you can feel if an audience will appreciate your comments. Had a great time at some horror movies where you get a couple of girls screaming.

However I never eat or drink in the cinema (the cost alone is prohibitive) and, like all other aspects of US culture, it seems the norm in the UK these days for people to enter cinemas with a bucket of coke and a crate of popcorn, make constant noise through the film and then leave the floor covered in the remnants.

As for mobile phones the only reason to have one on is if a family member is in critical condition or you’re an emergency worker on call. If you can’t be out of contact for a couple of hours the cinema is not the place for you.

I’m the grumpiest man here today !!

Sorry when I say US culture I mean the stereotype which we’ve seen since the 50’s, movie = popcorn. Please don’t be offended.
