John Hodgman is also the guy that threatened to kill Jon Stewart once. :P

Fun fact: Some sharp-eyed geeks spotted John Hodgman sitting in a balcony at the Times Square Cinematic Titanic show in Times Square (Danger On Tiki Island, April 2010) and he was kind enough to come down and say hi and shake some hands. Swell fella. Speaking of basic cable pseudocelebrities, I saw Keith Olbermann sneak in just as the show was starting, like he afraid he’d be mobbed by adoring fans.

Had the opportunity to be at the Minneapolis show last night, and it’s definitely a good time (although geared to a very nerdy sort of crowd.) Folks should definitely go. :)

Editing comment because: Sharktopus – your avatar is amazing!

    @ noordledoordle:

Thanks! I made a few of them last year around Valentine’s Day. (And completely forget to use one this past Valentine’s because I’m the dumb.) There’s also STILL MAD and MY NEEDS. I only steal from the best.

For those that have been to the show already, did the guys sign autographs afterwards? I’m definitely up for some humor, especially after this past week (flooded basement, crashed computer), but I would like to get Kevin’s autograph so I’m one step closer to finishing my MST3K autograph project (already met Bill). John would be a nice bonus, and if Mike Nelson showed up so the guys could do some Rifftrax promotions, I would be ecstatic and my project would be done! I know it’s not going to happen though.

I did get Kevin’s autograph. They weren’t “officially” signing anything, I think, but he was cool with signing stuff for people that came up to him bearing paper, DVDs, and other bits of flotsam after the show. They were primarily just getting their stuff together and putting things away, but seemed cool with accommodating any stray MSTies. Not sure if it went differently in Madison, but that was my experience. It’s definitely more Hodgman’s show, and he did have an official meet-and-greet line.

Okay, cool. Thanks for the info. I’ll know to keep an eye out for him after the show.

LOL I second that praise of Sharktopus’ avatar, amazing!

I follow Hodgman on Twitter (in addition to Kevin and Bill of course), and these sound like awesome shows for those lucky enough to live in that area.
