    Portland, Maine? Or Portland, Oregon?

    Because there’s both, Joel! :-D

Great article, by the way. I love reading about new perspectives of the show!

Nice interview. The music of the show was an important feature. Even a movie/tv soundtrack could be fodder for imitation or riffing.

Very cool article! Definitely a new way to look at MST3K and Joel’s other works! You can tell music is important to him.

At the Trout Mask Revisited show, I had asked him about the Captain Beefheart reference for the show’s title. He said it was a student’s idea. He added that he listens to Beefheart while exercising on his Elliptical :)

Also enjoyed this article! I love info like this. Most important tidbit, to me, was learning who the heck did the “la-la-las.” I always wondered about that.
