Reminder: Cinematic Titanic Show in L.A./Joel at the Everything Is Festival in L.A.

The Titans will do a show Sunday, Aug. 19, at 7 p.m. at the Saban Theater, 8440 Wilshire Blvd., Beverly Hills, Calif. The movie they will be doing is “Doll Squad. Get tickets here.

An organization called “The Cinefamily,” which runs The Silent Theater at 611 N. Fairfax Ave. in Los Angeles, is throwing at 10-day festival (that sounds like a LOT of fun) called the Everything Is Festival.

The night after the Cinematic Titanic Show, Monday, Aug. 20, Joel host something called “Show & Tell with Joel Hodgson.”

It would probably be best if you read their explanations for all this.

The Everything Is Terrible blog has a little more info. It’s their production, and it looks to be a orgy of snark, for better or worse.

I thought snark wasn’t part of Joel Hodgson comedy style. Well, I only know his Mst3k work, maybe he is multifacetic.

God, that whole thing sounds fantastic. If our tiny silent theater here (The Organ Loft) threw a fundraiser like that, they’d be sitting pretty. :)

For our Everything Is Festival! 2012 edition, we very, very proudly welcome Joel Hodgson — creator of Mystery Science Theater 3000 and Cinematic Titanic! Joel will show off not only his collection of ventriloquist dummies, but also various TV pilots he’s been involved in over the years (like the infamous The TV Wheel), and much more!

    Uhhhh what????????

I love Everything Is Terrible, but any of you sensitive folk better stay far away from their blog.

Another Everything is Terrible fan here! Their sense of humor is a lot more… surreal than MST3K (think Tim and Eric) and they usually let their bizarre found footage speak for itself (with a little editing ;)) rather than snark on it vocally. Dunno if that’s how it works live, but that’s why I’ve always found them funny.

Man, that’d be fun to go to.

There’s no ‘How was the show?’ thread so I guess I’ll post here. Show was awesome. So great to finally see it live after all these years. Special surprise guest at the end was the star of DOLL SQUAD Francine York! Very much looking forward to tomorrow night.
