I guess I’m the only human in this current universe who doesn’t “get” Seinfeld.

I’m not into bashing but the fact this trailer starts up every time I go to the Satellite News is to say the least annoying. And it’s not doing anything for my blood pressure.

Is there a way to block just this one bit?

Not into Seinfeld, I’m probably the only remaining human under eighty who isn’t Amish that has never seen a single episode of his show, but I’m thrilled to see Joel getting some of the recognition he deserves.

I’m not a Seinfeld fan by any means, but I checked out the Ricky Gervais ep last night and enjoyed it. So I’ll be watching Joel’s ep when it comes out. Thanks for the heads up! :-)

Wow. I never would have thought a big showbiz big shot like Jerry would even remember an old friend like Joel. Even if Joel had a part in making him the big shot he is. I guess I was wrong. And this is one instance where I’m happy I was wrong.

I watched all four episodes and they were very entertaining. Cool cars to say the least. How lucky to get picked up by Jerry in a classic car for a cup of coffee. Can’t wait to see Joel and Jerry interact.

Is it really necessary to spam the comments making the same complaint over and over? We get it, you don’t like Seinfeld and the video annoys you. Speaking of things that annoy…

Love Seinfeld and I don’t know if the web show with Joel or the following example proves it, but I always thought Jerry might be the type of person who would enjoy MST3K. My example is from one of the Chinese Restaurant when Jerry is worried about on leaving on time so he can go to a showing of Plan 9 From Outer Space:

    Elaine: “It’s just a movie.”

Jerry: “Just a movie? You don’t understand. This isn’t Plans One through Eight from Outer Space. This is Plan Nine! This is the one that worked. The worst movie ever made.” (wonder what he’d think of Manos)

“I can’t go to a bad movie by myself. What, am I gonna make sarcastic remarks to strangers?”

    :)

I’d love to know what Jerry thinks of MST3K and CT. Very cool he got back with Joel again for this.

I’ll have to watch this. I tried the sample, but that little circle that spins when something is downloading just kept going and going and I had to shut down and restart. I loved “Seinfeld” the series, Seinfeld’s standup was touch and go. I STILL HAVE a copy of the VHS tape that I taped off of HBO or Showtime (I think it was HBO) that was Seinfeld’s special that Joel was in and cowrote some of. Heh. I was actually not that in love with it, but I never erased it and it’s a nice bit of nostalgia.

I’ll check this out when it comes on.

How long has Joel’s voice been this low? I remember when he guest-starred in Soultaker, it had dropped some. It really brings out his Midwest drawl.

If Gilbert Godfried and Adam Sandler has an offspring together, it would look like Jerry Sienfeld.

#22: I don’t see the connection. You can dislike those three comedians (Sandler hate should be mandatory, by the way), but you have to concede that all of them have clearly distinct styles.

How can you not like somebody who has to have “zombie” explained to him. Really… I wish I knew somebody I could explain that to!! Jerry is great. Keep schooling him Joel!

I don’t know if anyone has seen this, but there’s a review from Britain of the show in The Telegraph here: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/culture/tvandradio/9490983/Jerry-Seinfeld-Comedians-in-Cars-Getting-Coffee-review.html The reviewer is definitely curbing his enthusiasm about the series, but I thought it worth pointing out that the blurb for the upcoming show says Seinfeld will be having coffee with “Joel Hunter.” Now, that’s either the effects of post-Olympic brain trauma, or the fatal error of a poor geezer who, despite living in one of the most culturally-rich nations on the planet, never had the benefit of Joel-era MST.

It’s actually kinda strange to see Joel smiling and cracking up, based on his dry persona. Even upon meeting him at a Cinematic Titanic show I attempted to joke around with him a little and he just sorta stared at me…and I’m friggen’ hilarious (oh, yes I am!!)

Passing under the bridge with the sign that reads something like “New Jersey, the embroidered state of America”. Joel says right away “See, now that sign should be embroidered”. That’s just his way of thinking.

This was fun–not timeless, classic comedy, but fun. I was a Seinfeld fan back in the day, and I will admit to owning some DVD sets of his show, but I’m not sure I’d tune in to this on a regular basis. Seeing Joel in non-riffing mode was great, but I was actually a little annoyed that Seinfeld seemed to be hogging the comversation–like it was his show, or something :-) . “More Joel, less Jerry,” says I.

You can see how they worked together as a writing team. Seinfeld says, “It’s part of his breakfast.” Joel fleshes out his idea, “Part of his *complete* breakfast.” Seinfeld laughs harder.

Seinfeld, the TV show, not the man, was one of those rare events that was both adored by critics and fans. Kinda like The Beatles. As a long time fan of Joel, I am flattered by Jerry’s remark about Joel- “one of my favorite cultural visionaries.”
