Randall 15 show was sold out about 15 minutes after my girlfriend, myself, and two friends got into the theater.
Not much I can say that hasn’t already been said.
Looking forward to NOLTD in October. Hopefully there will be sone new riffs for that one instead of a re-hash of the riffs from the DVD version.
Loved the show. Two packed theaters here in Redmond, WA. So the ‘Laaaaaaaaaadies’ joke was used again and I’m still at a loss. What’s that referencing?
Love the show. sound was off thought. Usually the sound is great but you could only heard the movie or the guys. So I think we miss a lot jokes. I hope they fix next time. Sad see no goodies. (what no 10% to new fans,) But in Cincinnati ohio the theater was full.
Practically full show in Pittsburgh Mills Theater. 1997 me would have had his mind blown to know the Mystery Science Theater guys were riffing Starship Troopers, and the show was faaaaaaantastic. Everyone (including Rifftrax accountants I’m sure) seems to prefer the old movies that come pre-synched, but I prefer the new movie/blockbuster riffs. And this is a reminder of just how good they can be.
Though I would like to echo what a few people have already said: weird to be so squeamish about the nudity and have no problem with the violence. But, the gorilla-gram stuff didn’t take anything away from it, so it’s not big deal.
Saw another rochestarian post on here, I went to a different theater here in Henrietta NY, 3/4 capacity which was the most I’ve seen there for a Rifftrax. great job all around. was actually ticked I didn’t contribute to the kickstarter when I saw the love from the gang. next time for sure! the mainstream movie definitely drew out more people to give it a go. keep up the good work guys!

And from what I gather above, they’re doing Night of the Living Dead in October?! Oh man! I love love love that movie, I consider it to be a legitimate classic, not just of horror cinema, but of American cinema (yeah I said it. What?!) and I’m not sure how I feel about it being riffed, but you can bet like heck that I’ll be there to check it out.
Columbia, MO Forum 8 had fine crowd, nearly full. Audio problems a bit annoying but what can you do?
I love wildlife as much as the next guy (if he’s not sitting too close) but I wanted to slap that damn gorilla. Boobies? We can see people sliced and diced by huge plastic bugs but chesties aren’t allowed? Boo!!
Some great riffs, gotta admit “I just want to tell you both good luck, we’re all counting on you” was the root beer out the nose laugh of the night.
Can’t wait for “Living Dead!”

Since someone added a review from the show from DVD Talk, here’s my review from my blog. It includes some riffs, and how it compares to how Cinematic Titanic had to hide bare breasts in “Frankenstein’s Castle of Freaks.” It’s not as fun as Gorilla Grams, but still interesting
@102- I rember this line as far back as The House on Haunted Hill but not sure if that was the origin of it or not. I did get a kick out of it in its context last night, such great timing…
As a few others have said, is is the most full I have seen our theatre for a Rifftrax live event. Probably 75% to 80% full. Seems to be growing in popularity!
To everyone disappointed about digital goodies nowhere at the end of the event. It was because this was a Kickstarter supported show, so there will be goodies, but for over and above certain contributor levels; the goodies are ‘thank you’ gifts for people who gave money.
Fullest I’d seen the place at one of the RiffTrax live events here in Lawrenceville, GA. So Riff-o-Rama, will, say, the Manos Live Show ever be available for purchase or will it be an exclusive for contributors?
My usual place downstairs at Thornton Place AMC at Northgate was already sold out by 6:30, but fortunately I was able to make it to downtown Seattle at AMC Pacific Place (Oh, and they sold beer there, too. How about that?). Auditorium 9 was near capacity. Next time, I buy ahead of time.
My fiancee and I met some friends at the Showplace Icon in Chicago. Theater was well populated but not crowded. Audience was excellent. Riffing was good (blaring soundtrack and effects drowning out the jokes notwithstanding), but I felt the movie wasn’t quite inept enough for mockery.
Standout jokes:
“I CAN’T STOP SMILING!”
“We’ve got our cliches locked and loaded, SIR!”
“Bad news. You’re going to be the worst Bond girl ever.”
“I’m your man, until I die or you find someone better.” “Ah, my wedding vow.”
“I’ll forget that night that I settled for you.”
“From here on out, 80% of the script is ‘move.'” (Wish they had referenced Space Mutiny at least once)
Did anyone else notice the abundance of video game jokes? I counted Zelda (“Shoot the glowing spot, like every Zelda game”), Star Fox (“And Slippy is immediately shot down”) and Mario Kart (the Rainbow Road reference). Nice to know that these guys like the same games I do.
A great time was had, all in all. However, I think I would have had the best time possible at the Birdemic showing, if I had even thought to go.

Clifton, NJ AMC about 90% full. Great event! My only beef, and I’m sure others had this too, was when the “party gorillas” came out during the shower and “tent love scene.” Hmmmm. No exposed privates but having people torn to bits is OK. Other than that this was great! Chances are I’ll be around for the “Night of the Living Dead” show in October.

For those complaining about “Why show all the gore and yet do the Gorilla-Gram gags during the nude scenes?” I think the basic idea was that the nudity was real and the gore was bad CGI imagery that, ostensibly, no one can take seriously. (Especially when Carmen gets a soon-forgotten wound to the shoulder.) Real nudity has a squick value for the Brains and the RT crew; remember remarks like “What IS that?!” in “Laserblast,” or “My my my my MY GOD!!!” from “Mitchell”?
I was at the Clifton NJ theater which was sold out. The biggest crowd ever there.On a personal note I had to sit in the front row last seat on the left so the teeth were HUGE!…also Casper Van Dynes chin was as big as Texas. I laughed so much I can’t even recall most of the riffs!
The footballs are silver because it’s “the FUTURE”. :)
Best RiffTrax Live yet. My hopes were not to high for this but was very funny.
Attendance at the theater in Orem, UT was sparce, less than previous RiffTrax Live Events.
I missed the show getting emergency gall bladder surgery…gall bladder and a 1 inch gall stone removed….I feel like an idiot..
@120, Yeah the theater I went to in Layton, UT wasn’t very full either. I guess there’s not as many RiffTrax/MST3K fans in Utah? Shame.
It was hard to tell if the reaction was coming from the theater i was in or the audience in Nashville…but “300 years in the future and AT&T is STILL dropping calls!” got a huge response. Biggest audience yet at the sycamore theater in Iowa City, Iowa…maybe a dozen seats short of being sold out! but what do you expect from the #1 party town in America??!! ;) Audience attendance has easily tripled since the first showing of Plan 9.
“Hahahahaha I’ve made a huge mistake.”…anybody else feel this was a tip of the hat to Arrested Development??..which in turn gave MST a tip of the hat in its 4th season?
I was extremely fortunate to be at the live broadcast in Nashville. I’ve wanted to go for years (or however long they’ve been doing them), and was never able to get tickets as they always sold out so fast. I was able to buy a ticket from someone online, and drove the 7 hours from Chicago, and it was TOTALLY WORTH IT!!! I’ve always wanted to see Mike, Kevin and Bill perform live together (seen Kevin and Bill together, but never all three) and it was just something that HAD to be done. I was also really hoping to get to meet them as I needed Mike’s autograph on a couple of pictures to finally finish my MST3K autograph project. The whole way down I was thinking, “man, if I don’t get to meet them, it’s going to be a looooong drive back to Chicago.” Well, as luck would have it, I got to meet them all, TWICE that day! They were super gracious and funny, and signed autographs, took pictures, and I got to ask a couple of questions I’ve been wanting to know the answers too. During the credits the first thing they showed was an 8×10 of all three guys that was being signed, that was mine! The interactions with all three of them was priceless and something I will never, ever forget. So if you guys happen to be reading this, “THANK YOU!!!” from the guy from Chicago!
So for anyone debating whether or not they should make the trip down, or up, or over to Nashville to see them, DO IT if you get the chance! And Nashville was pretty cool too.
Oh, and I really, really hope they are able to release this as a VOD or DVD or whatever as it was definitely one of my favorite riffs they’ve done, and I’m not just saying that because I was there.
My wife and I attended in North Brunswick,NJ. Great show! We loved it! Best Live event next to Manos. Our favorite line was the funeral scene. “Her coffins slams into Spocks.” :)

Also attended one in San Diego (mission valley). Entered theater about a half hour early to find the theater 80% full already, but still got decent seats since it was only the 2 of us. Same complaint/observation about the sound levels during the “action” sequences. Overall, a very good time and worth it!

Darn it, I just found out today that they played this in Winnipeg and I missed it. Have they announced what cities the encore presentation will be playing on Sep 12th?
They didn’t gorillagram away all the nudity. You could still see Dina Meyer topless in the love scene before Ironside gave them 20 minutes. So, it clearly wasn’t prudishness that caused them to gorillagram it; it was a joke.
Though it did make me uncomfortable to see a child front row to see the film. That’s a lot of bug killin’ and human killin’ to see for a 8 year old.
Great turnout here in Manchester CT. Damn near a full house! Same sound issues as everyone else but, didn’t detract from the experience at all. Going to be at the replay on the 12th for sure and can’t wait to see the next live show in October.

Don’t understand why “Honey-boo-boo hasn’t aged well” got such a groan! I thought it was right on the money!!
I saw Jake Busey several days later at a horror convention, and it took all my will power to not tell him he had the teeth of a Clydesdale

Sold out in Albany, NY, but we lost about 10 minutes of signal (video only; audio was still clear), at which time the BIMBO in front of me decided “Yes, I am in a movie theater, this seems like the perfect place to MAKE A PHONE CALL!” Never had that kind of experience at a Rifftrax show; she must have been dragged there (maybe she thought she was still seeing Twilight) because no REAL fan would think of being so horrible while Mike Nelson was speaking.
But when Jake Busey pulls up with his green violin when they’re slow dancing, I laughed so hard that I’m pretty sure I pulled something. It was the first time in my 30 years on this earth that I have laughed myself hoarse. I’m going to photoshop his big face into my wedding picture.
Didn’t see the show live but caught the rebroadcast last night. I had seen comments that the movie sound and riffs weren’t mixed right. At Pittsburgh Mills, it was fine and we didn’t miss anything. Any idea if they fixed/remixed things in the last month?
