Can someone go to this event and ask Mallon why in the hell we don’t have MST3K toys yet?

Well, there’s the ones Shout Factory made.

Incidentally, I looked at that poster and was like, “MST3K riffing ‘The Day After Tomorrow’? Cool.”

Since Sampo and Erhardt probably know Mallon better than any of us, I can’t help but wonder what they think of the occasional slams on Mallon.

I feel bad for Mallon. I know there’s no love lost between him and the writers/cast…but I see him as someone who got in over his head when he tried to play hardball.

But since the creative/business differences have become public and he’s the the wrong side of the argument, the fan community will outright reject anything he does (most notably the MST3K.com cartoon shorts).

It also doesn’t help that those animated shorts were utter honk-shoos.

Somebody needs to go to this, to work on convincing him to release those missing KTMAs!

I am still totally dumbfounded by Joel’s claim that prior to his starting Cinematic Titanic. he actually approached Mallon about restarting MST3K…but that Mallon went with the website instead. GIves you a clearer view on that “creative vs business” aspect…and the seemingly lack of either from Mallon. With the touted brisk and purported growing sales of the DVD boxsets…more product in that vein would have been a no brainer. But again, the view that Mallon is in it for his solo gain does not make my opinion of him any favorable.
