RIP Doug Lennox

lennox Canadian radio, television and film actor Doug Lennox died Nov. 28 (we don’t have details yet). He was 76. MSTies might remember he played The Captain in the movie in episode K20- THE LAST CHASE.

Lennox began his career in radio in 1965. He spent the ’70s at CBC Radio & Television. All during this time, he continued a successful second career both on-camera and as a voice-over actor in the commercial world of advertising. Perhaps his most enduring success was his radio series and the subsequent series of books under the title “Now You Know.” He also had a 35-year career on television and movies.

Thanks to Timmy for the heads up.

This saddens me. I remember he played the human villain in ‘Thomas & the Magic Railroad’, and was very proud of his work in that film, but alas, test audiences didn’t like him, so ordered him to be cut, making the movie a jumbled mess as his plot lines were left hanging. Fans have been trying to get a director’s cut released, and he was always a very keen supporter and always telling stories to the fandom.

Definitely a wonderful man. He will be missed.
