Weekend Discussion Thread: Guest Stars?

One of the biggest bombshells Joel dropped in the build-up to the end of the Kickstarter campaign was that A-listers — including Jack Black, Joel McHale, Bill Hader, Neil Patrick Harris, Jerry Seinfeld and Mark Hamill — have expressed an interest in doing a guest spot on the show.

Let’s leave aside the gripes about “stunt casting,” and instead ask: what major (or minor) celebrity do you think would work well popping up on MST3K 2.0?

Me, I’m going to say just one word: Shatner.

Who would you like to see?

EricJ: While I heartily concur with the idea, what specific BTS backstory am I missing?
I know The Crankmaster voiced the CC documentary, what other contentiousness has he had with the Brains?

Penn Jillette did the voiceovers for Comedy Central. His booming voiced ‘coming up next’ teasers we’re constantly heard over MST’s closing credit music (until CC stopped because of complaints) CC’s, not Jillette’s fault, but the actor always gets the blame.
