How are people still playing into this? It was already proven months ago that “Eric J.” is really just a Tony Clifton character Rifftrax uses to sell the name while having a self-deprecating laugh. It works so well there are actually some people who donate money to Rifftrax every time the dread J makes a post, as if to spite him somehow? This is the very reason the admins allow it all and say nothing, because they know full well even Mike on rare occasions will use the name as a way to drop in and covertly say hello while poking fun at himself and the fandom it excites. The setup up is pretty obvious when you think about it: pretend to be some psycho who is obsessed with coming across totally loathsome to strangers, and just by speaking against something, make it seem more likable in comparison to all the awfulness. Works like a charm every time.

Honestly, do you really think there is someone out there in the real world, who would be so dedicated to doing Mike Nelson and Rifftrax such the hugest favor as remind people on a near daily basis of the brand name in such a hilarious way? For free?! Come now… Nobody is that nice.

    I need evidence.

Yeah, need to see the proof on that. That theory makes about as much sense as the fever dream of a blog your screen name links to.

Bah! Even when he’s not metaphorically Baydooling pots of urine at Murphy, Nelson and Corbett, his tone of condescending know-it-all pre-millenium pop vulture geek is just so offputting to me.

Meant “pop culture”, but “pop vulture” sounds pretty cool!

Raaagh; I instantly hate it because they aren’t using the proper name; Tangents! RAGGGGGHHHHHH etc.

I always feel a bit mixed about redos for whatever reason, but the fact that it’s the whole movie is intriguing. I think my biggest hope for all of this is that Frank and Trace are able to bring “The Mads” to Rifftrax, much like Mary Jo and Bridget. Them riffing pretty much anything would be ace in my books.
