I think it might be GLEN OR GLENDA…

Well, I’d drive 3 hours (to, say, Miami) but a nearly 7 hour drive would KILL this old man (not to mention I’d have to get a place to stay overnight, as there is no way I could do that turnaround).

Why Pensecola? Central Florida is where it’s at. Or is it (wait for it) near a college or Universary? As I suggested, there just isn’t any big school near where I live to make it worthwhile for events like this, so as usual I’m SOL (very appropriate, I know).

@Mike “ex-genius” Kelley: I’m pretty sure it’s because they were invited by the group in Pensacola. If you have an in at any venue in the area, sell the show.

I caught them in Milwaukee a couple weeks ago. It was an extremely enjoyable time. They were milling about the audience before the show and did a meet and greet after as well. This was the first time I took advantage of the meet and greet and I was glad I did. I made the comment to Trace that I was sorry to see Cinematic Titanic come to an end he responded he was too.
I have no idea what movie is on the docket for Pensacola but in Milwaukee they did a dating short whose name escapes me. (It wasn’t anything done previously by MST or Rifftrax.) The movie was The Monolith Monsters. It was perfect riffing fodder from my favorite riffing genre.

Rifftrax has to get these guys to start riffing for them in the worst way.

The short they did in Milwaukee was “More Dates for Kay”. Frank mentioned in a radio interview promo-ing RiffTrax Live last month with Mike that this was the short he and Trace were planning to riff for the Reunion show at the end of June.

So are they not doing Plan 9 anymore? I actually hope not, all the best lines of it were the exact same best lines as Rifftrax’s version of it. Not saying they saw Rifftrax’s version (great minds perhaps think alike), but the similarities were glaring.

Darn, I am only a couple of hours away, but I have jury duty the following morning, don’t think I can make that drive home.

The show was excellent, and the audience was packed! The short was “More Dates for Kay”, and the movie was The Monolith Monsters. They were gracious enough to stick around for autographs and photos even though they had to be exhausted. There were also some interesting insights during the pre-film interview, such as how MST3k would rarely get films on their wish list and, if they did, they would get three bad films along with the one they wanted. If Trace and Frank happen to be touring near you, it’s definitely worth the trip!

  12. I have read some excellent stuff here. Certainly worth bookmarking for revisiting.

I wonder how much attempt you set to create the sort of great informative site.
