Scarecrow Video Reports?

The Cinematic Titanic team made an appearance at Seattle’s legendary Scarecrow Video yesterday. Here is one very nice report (with pictures!) that we found on the Web.

Any other reports?

It looks like Trace shaved! What gives? He looked great with the goatee.

  2. Words cannot describe how happy I am. So I will write some words that describe how happy I am:

We arrived at Scarecrow around 6:45pm before a line had even formed…but there was MST3k in the air. Eventually they put down a few strips of duct tape that signified the start of the said “line”. I was 4th…wasn’t 1st….but I was feeling good about being 4th. The “event” was supposed to take place at 7:00pm, but Joel’s plane had just landed at Seatac around that time. One of the employees made an announcement that it would probably start closer to 7:30pm (Actually got rolling around 8ish).

It was sort of an odd feeling standing there. I mean; here I was at 20-something years of age…about to meet the Kings of my childhood. All of a sudden my mind went blank. I had no idea what I was going to say to them or what I wanted to say. I would be happy enough just to receive a passing glance. I suppose that I under estimated what was really about to happen.

I had brought 2 items for the cast to sign: one was a painting I did for my brother (which was probably painted when I wasn’t sober…but sober enough to paint it) and the second was a MST3k silhouette stencil that I painted with bright yellow and blue spray paint.

When the time came; the cast came down the red carpeted stairs. I had a gigantic smile and so did they. They all were the most laid back, super cool, B-movie riffing crew that I came to love 13 years ago. Frank called my painting “freaky deaky” (which I thought was perfect) and complimented the stencil. Joel also really liked my stencil; which is totally super-mega-ultra-double-maxi sweet.

I was able to coax Joel into taking a picture with me. I think I said something like; “Would I be able to take have a picture taken of us?”. He’s a big pushover. Anyway here is the picture: http://img16.imageshack.us/img16/4490/woooooo.jpg

My special lady friend also had her picture taken. And to anyone who says Joel doesn’t smile in his pictures: http://img21.imageshack.us/img21/1120/wooooooooooo2.jpg

Also; my Canon HF100 was signed by Joel. That camera will be filming my documentary project this year. That really means a lot to me; thank you Joel!
    :)

    Ending transmission…

He had a full beard when I saw him.

I like that Time Chasers trailer for the anniversary release under related topics. Enhanced visuals? The plaid really pops!

I went to the signing too,and it was the highlight of my year so far. the thing that still sticks out in my mind is when i got to the table and trace was at the beginning, he checked out the servo that i had brought and then politely slid it back to me saying i had done a great job. he was a little surprised when i asked him to sign it. I know he’s crow but his head is really tough to build from scratch. it was a great time and awesome to meet everyone.

Hmmmmm….The members of CT are nice, friendly and easy to talk to??? This is pretty much an absolute given. Some day I’ll get my own chance to personally thank them for all the laughs they have given me.

They were in great spirts; very cordial and gracious. When queried, each was very enthusiastic about the future of CT.

My ten-year-old son was with me, and when Trace found out we would both be attending the Saturday night CT performance, he warned me that there would be some four letter words thrown around. I assured him that my kid is pretty worldly for his age, and that he’d never forgive me if I didn’t take him.

Best reaction of the night was Mary Jo. After signing the inside of my DVD cover, she recoiled in horror when she realized it was Manos.

My son, who was ecstatic about meeting Joel, asked him which MST episode is his favorite. Joel replied, “Hercules Unchained is up there, but Mitchell is pretty good, too.”

    Hiking Crew,

Your post caught up by our spam filter and I had to manually let it through. Sorry about that. Thanks for the excellent report!

My “full beard” comment in #3 was about Trace. I typed it regarding #1’s post, before #2’s post was wedged between there. It made sense before then.
