RIP Rance Howard and More

Rance Howard, father of director Ron Howard and actor Clint Howard, died on Saturday. He was 89.
Ron Howard took to Twitter to announce his father’s death Saturday afternoon. Details were not immediately disclosed.
The elder Howard appeared in dozens films his son directed, including “Apollo 13,” “A Beautiful Mind,” “Splash,” “Cocoon,” “How the Grinch Stole Christmas,” “Parenthood” and “Grand Theft Auto,” which he co-wrote with his son.
MSTies will remember him in a small role as a deputy in the movie in episode 523- VILLAGE OF THE GIANTS.

Peter Baldwin, who started as an actor and went on to become a prolific, Emmy Award-winning TV director throughout the ’60s, ’70s and ’80s, died Nov. 19 in Pebble Beach, Calif. He was 86.
MSTies will remember a small acting role early in has career: he played Security Officer James in the movie in episode 906- THE SPACE CHILDREN.

Della Reese, the husky-voiced singer and actress who spent almost a decade playing a down-to-earth heavenly messenger on the CBS series “Touched by an Angel” and became an ordained minister in real life, died on Nov. 19 at her home in Encino, Calif. She was 86.
She earned a place in MSTory when she was mentioned in a host segment in episode 1001- SOULTAKER.
