RIP Mort Walker

Stamford, Conn.–Mort Walker, the creator of the “Beetle Bailey” comic strip, died Jan. 27 at his home here. He was 94.

Beetle Bailey was mentioned in a host segment in episode 315- TEENAGE CAVEMAN.

    My favorite Beetle Bailey is where the GIs kneel down beneath Sarge’s window and sing “Apple pie with cheese, apple pie with cheese. I’d get on my knees and beg for apple pie with cheese.” Sarge starts to slobber and runs off to the mess hall, then Beetle and the gang grab the weekend passes out of Sarge’s desk. Ha! RIP Mort
