Could someone who isn’t Eric share their opinion on whether or not Rifftrax is going to the sword and sorcery well too often? Thanks.

    Yuck.

I’m presuming that the babysitter was underage? Because if not, well, the only “Yuck” I see is the adultery itself.

“Seagal’s marriage to LeBrock wasn’t so happy, to say the least. LeBrock filed for divorce in 1994 citing ‘irreconcilable differences’ after she found out that her husband was having an affair with their nanny, Arissa Wolf (not to be confused with his daughter Arissa).

Not only was the actor cheating on his wife, he also had a daughter with Arissa, named Savannah. Seagal and his nanny came out as a couple and were seen together on many red carpets. Kelly and Steven finalized their divorce in 1996 and oh was it bitter.

It turned out that the actress was hiding at her California ranch and in recent years she finally spoke about her bitter time from when she was married to Seagal: ‘When I split with Steven, the divorce was very ugly, and details of the case were on the evening news. I didn’t want my kids seeing it, so I simply got rid of the TV. I moved my kids out of L.A. so they could grow up with real people… I had absolutely no self-esteem… I feared everything and didn’t want to leave the house.”

Do you know about the Rifftrax Live events this year? None are of the sword and sorcery genre.

Steven Seagal also had a daughter in Japan, who starred in the 2000s Gamera movies.

It’s hilarious, because she’s huge, she’s taller than any of the Japanese men in the movie.

Also, for the love of Mike, please no more Peakviewing Productions movies. They’re like a grade below Sci-Fi Channel movies. There’s so many watchable B movies out there that would be so much better to riff.

    Unless they are paying Rifftrax…

If I’m reading this correctly and frankly what are the odds of that, they’ve already reached their goal. Good for them. :-)

Regrettably, they’ve yet again revived a film that has not only already been MSTed but which was MSTed BY the usual Rifftrax trio. Can’t they at least call in Trace or one of the others for “The Giant Spider Invasion”? Oh well.

If someone had a Kickstarter for however much money it would take to get Trace to do more Rifftrax, THAT I’d chip in on.

Rifftrax are also presenting “Octoman” and “Star Raiders.” Both sound goofy and fun.

Trace may have a busy schedule or previous commitments.

At least you’ll be able to see the Rifftrax Live shows in your local theater.

My city’s former mayor, now disliked by both political parties, was big into raising rents.

That decimated several movie theaters in my neighborhood. :-(

    How about RT themselves?:
The Sorcerer’s Apprentice comes from the same childlike-whimsy mill that brought us The Little Unicorn and Merlin: The Return.
(AND the W-word, hoping the SciFi kids will still think that anything with Merlin on the cover is a Shop of Magical Wonders.)

Yeah, and while we’re at it, could someone else do the “It showed up on Amazon Prime five minutes earlier” joke? I mean, you think everyone ELSE with streaming-fatigue would be doing them by now, I can’t keep these going all by myself!

  18. privateiron says:

First, where are the “Red Dwarf” jokes? They keep doing films by David Lister and I can remember nary a one.

Second, Sword and Sorcery are not played out, but the films from this “studio” are. (Not all of them are what I would call Sword and Sorcery anyway. This one barely qualified itself.) It was another OK, but completely forgettable rifftrack. And they have been on a good roll in general, with stuff like “Yor” and Bridget/Mary Jo and Elliott/Potter; so please stop dipping into the oeuvre of Peakviewing and NotaPorno; those have mostly been terrible.

Finally, on the subject of remakes: it depends on the movie, the personnel and any factor that can make it different or special. No new riffers for this Giant Spider Invasion, but it is an immensely riffable movie and they will have the X factor of doing it uncut with a new print. So I am cautiously optimistic it will be worth it.

Okay, so what DO we call the Not-a-Porno “Modern kids discover [pick one: Fairy, Unicorn, Wizard] and hide them from the villainous washed-up-actor” direct-video genre?

If every single porn director is going to try and dump their non-porn kiddy movies on Prime for RT to find, and RT is going to exploit the entire filmography of one that got fan attention, we need some new genre shorthand for it.

These Peakviewing movies are just so utterly mediocre, it’s almost inevitable that the rifftracks will be too. At least BAD movies have some personality, these are the ultimate definition of faceless time-fillers.

And are our boys easing into retirement? I noted a few months ago that Kevin’s name had disappeared from the writing credits, now Bill’s name is absent, too.

Those who follow the above link will be “treated” to the metaphorical sight of Eric, who regularly makes long, interminable posts for no other reason than because he knows it annoys people, asks another correspondent to stop making brief remarks of about a line or two which happen to annoy ERIC. It’s quite a spectacle. Metaphorically.
