RIP Sue Casey

Los Angeles–Actress and Hollywood extra Sue Casey, who appeared in more than 85 productions between 1945 and 2002, died Feb. 21. She appeared in such well-known films as “Annie Get Your Gun,” “An American in Paris,” “Showboat” and “Paint Your Wagon.” She was 92.

MSTies will remember her role as scheming Anne Duval in the movie in episode 204- CATALINA CAPER.

There have been, surprisingly, no actual press obituaries (so far) but there is a long, loving tribute by, I assume, a family member at Legacy.com. It’s worth a read.

There’s also an unusually lengthy biography at the IMDB.

Thanks to Timmy for the heads up.

She was quite good in CATALINA CAPER, which was especially noticeable since nobody else was.

She was also in “Monster From the Surf” (1965)where she was the only good thing in the movie. Too bad MST3K didn’t do that one.

A.K.A. “The Beach Girls and the Monster”. Ironically just watched this a few weeks back. I agree this would have made great MST3K fodder, but Sue Casey definitely gave a performance that owned that movie. I won’t mention her stunning good looks.

R.I.P., Ms. Casey. May angels sing thee to thy rest.
