    Firsties!

Oh wait. I mean, “When did this come out?”

I don’t see a thing on the Rifftrax forums. You guys really got the scoop.

This is the most pointless short since “Why Doesn’t Cathy Eat Breakfast?”. Not talking about the riffs, just about how the short itself loses most of it’s coherence when viewed out of context, i.e. outside of a mid to late 1970’s junior high school classroom.

The riffing this time around isn’t bad, but it’s far from the best they’ve done on a short. I think this short probably doesn’t lend itself to riffing quite as well as something like the recent “Towards Emotional Maturity”, or for examples more contemporary to this one, the excellent “If Mirrors Could Speak” or “Safety Harm Hides At Home”. Those shorts offered plenty of great riff opportunities for a lot of different kinds of jokes. This short mainly only offers the chance to make a lot of very similar jokes about booze. There are a few really funny comments, but not enough to make the short stand out as much as some of the others they have done. To me it’s still worth the $.99 though. Overall though I think they’ve been keeping the quality of the shorts pretty high, so I’ll still gladly fork over $.99 every week if they want to keep putting them out like they have been.
