ENGLAND — Alan Hawkshaw, who composed music for 35 films and many television shows, died at a hospital here on Oct. 16. He was 84.He also composed tunes for the pop group The Shadows which toured with the Rolling Stones. He was also sampled by many artists, including rapper Jay-Z.
MSTies will remember his work on the music that was used in the short PROGRESS ISLAND U.S.A., featured in episode 621- THE BEAST OF YUCCA FLATS.

Funny thing: I discovered a while back that much of the music used in Progress Island came from this Australian TV series, The Box. Never heard of it before, but the music is unmistakable.
No credit for Hawkshaw in the video, but he was a fantastic artist. He will be missed.

It’s possible you’re right or it’s possible the music just existed out there and The Box bought the rights and used it. No mention of The Box on IMDB but I don’t know how extensive the Australian TV listings are.
