Season 13 Finale to Feature Three Riffers

In case you hadn’t heard:

Tune Into the Gizmoplex on December 16th as Emily, Jonah and Joel Riff ‘The Christmas Dragon’

For the first time in Mystery Science Theater 3000 history, THREE hosts will be riffing one Christmas turkey! In this very special holiday episode, Jonah Ray, Emily Marsh and series creator and original host Joel Hodgson are joined by two sets of robots on the Satellite of Love. This all-star team must collectively endure the Forresters’ newest experiment as they watch a pack of precocious orphans try to save Father Christmas in The Christmas Dragon.

But this time, there’s even more at stake, as our heroes have hatched an escape plan to free themselves from Kinga Forrester’s evil clutches forever! Will their scheme succeed? Catch the livestream premiere on December 16 at 8pm ET / 5pm PT, only at Gizmoplex.com.

If you haven’t heard by now, Mystery Science Theater 3000 is back with new episodes! Curious viewers can head to the Gizmoplex – MST3K’s indie streaming platform and the only place to see new episodes of MST3K. The Gizmoplex features all of the season 13 episodes and shorts that have premiered so far, along with brand-new MST3K content available in special livestream events every two weeks. The Gizmoplex is accessible via a web portal and also on a wide variety of OTT platforms, including apps for both iOS and Android devices, Roku, Amazon Fire TV, and more.

    Still feels incomplete without Mike.
I do like Jonah and Emily, though I prefer Mike.
(some things I do like and dislike about the newer show, the storyline episodes never bothered me too much for the older, but it does more now)
Just wish they could get some of the older riders back, at least we have Rifftrax though.
Now for the film, it doesn’t look too bad from the clips I’ve seen. (still can’t believe people said Munchie was worse then Manos, was it bad? yes. Worse MST3K film? not even close)
I do hope they riff a 2000s film eventually.
While I’m at it, there overdue for a new Joe Estevez film, a new Joe Don Baker film (not allowed yet though until one of Jonahs final episodes), a new Coleman….wait nevermind on that one.

I actually love Manos. Watching it is like experiencing a strange strange dream in real time. It is so damn weird it is fantastic!

Munchie is much more anger inducing and cringe-worthy.

Well, “fantastic” is a bit strong, but I get your point! Coleman F’s “films” are like that, too: a train wreck with carnage scattered all around, and you feel dirty, but you have to keep gawking at it. Movies like this are much better MSTie fodder than ones that are bad, but look like professionals did them.
As for Munchie, I thought I was going to have your exact reaction, but I was pleasantly surprised–more laughs than I thought, and I didn’t destroy my Macpro in ineffable rage, as I almost did with Santa Claus Conquers the Martians, Mac & Me, and several other more recent movies.

I’ve got a staff Christmas party tonight, and I’m responsible for bringing chips and Kutztown birch beer. So, I’ll have to catch this one on tape delay.

Warning! Spoilers! Maybe? Anyone care to speculate why they are returning to earth in 1991?
