Sharon Acker RIP

TORONTO, Canada — Canadian actress Sharon Acker died March 16 in a retirement home here. She was 87.

Though she appeared in dozens of TV series, she may be best remembered for her role as the unfaithful wife in the 1967 neo-noir classic “Point Blank.”

MSTies will remember her performance as Dr. Bettina Cook in the unsuccessful TV pilot featured in episode 305- STRANDED IN SPACE.

The Hollywood Reporter has the story.

Thanks to Gordon for the heads up.

Her gravity defying outfit on Star Trek TOS was a high mark in sci-fi TV fashion. RIP

    My Mistake –

I misremembered her role. She was in the episode “Mark of Gideon” in which her outfit was relatively modest. It was even written in her obit connected to this page. Sorry. I guess all that transporter travel has fogged my brain.

  3. This one stings a bit. She was the only reason I could see to watch Stranded in Space, which showed us the terrifying prospect of a planet in which all motor vehicles were low-lilne Chrysler sedans. She was one of those actresses that we would ask, “Why haven’t I seen here in something better?”
