RIP Chi Chi Rodriguez CLEARWATER, FLA. — Juan Antonio “Chi-Chi” Rodríguez (age 88), (aka “Chy-chy Rodragweez”) died here August 8. He was an eight-time PGA Tour winner and one of the most charismatic and beloved figures in pro golf.

Out on a golf course practicing with another golfer Chi Chi saw that there was an approaching thunderstorm in the distance. He and his companion, standing in the open holding metal clubs in the air, were grazed by a lightning bolt and fell to the ground gasping for breath. Rodriguez considered that to be a life lesson cheaply acquired and never to be forgotten. RIP

Did I get those two confused? Sounds like something I would do.
I always think of the episode of WKRP where Les Newman mispronounced his name. Chy-Chy Rod-ra-gweez.
Maybe? Trevino got struck three times so I imagined him laughing at someone getting “grazed” once. I can’t find any info about Chi Chi and lightning, though.
