A couple of months ago, Dark Corners did this review of a physical media set of five DEFA (the production company that made Singing Ringing Tree) from Deaf Crocodile. Rather than a narrator talking over the characters, it’s regular German with subtitles. Which means that the indoctrination is balder than the the Soviet Troika films. Though they do have their goofy bits, like the pole vaulting bunny.

    via Google:

“Prominent Hollywood stuntwomen Stephanie Epper and Paula Crist performed stunts for [“Mitchell”], which featured several intense practical action sequences, including the film’s signature helicopter-and-automobile chase.”

I’d be unsurprised to learn that some of said stunts were, like John Saxon’s death scene, cut from the film to give it the necessary running time.

Chris was the one who handled the MST3K news. But you may recall last year he announced that he was having trouble focusing (presumably from getting old and tired as happens to us all eventually), so was stepping back from those duties. Brian has always been more into documenting RiffTrax releases. And I imagine age is taking its toll on him as well. Certainly his three weeks radio silence from a while back was alarming.
