  • The Crawling Eye Special Introduction by Joel Hodgson
  • Mystery Science Theater Hour Wraps on The Beatniks
  • The Main Event: Crow vs. Crow at DragonCon ‘09
  • Blood Waters of Dr. Z Photo Gallery
  • Original Trailers and Promos
  • Mini-posters by Steve Vance
  • …and More!
  • The set is currently slated for release on March 16th. If you’d like to pre-order it from Amazon, we’d appreciate if you used this link.

Thanks to Valnastar for the Amazon info!

    2. Meadows says:

Pretty cool…but the “more” part HAS to be something related to Final Sacrifice!

(I can never figure out how the posting here works. When I posted my message, the post from Meadows was the only existing post. Now my “empty Rowsdower beer can” post is listed as #1 and Meadows’ post is #2… Heaven only knows what order this message will end up as…)

Johnny Ryde – I think it’s up to us fans to make our own Rowsdower empty beer cans, but I suppose that means we have to drink skunky Canadian beer, eh?

An intro from Joel? That’s awesome. I loved the Mike intros from earlier sets.

And definitely looking forward to Crow vs. Crow.

It really is a great time to be a MST3K fan.

Now, please, please, please, Shout Factory: release Master Ninja I and Master Ninja II and Droppo will become not only the laziest man on Mars, but, also the happiest.

Ha, I knew orange would be the next color! [/lame]

I figured we’d be getting something special to go with The Crawling Eye, but I’m really looking froward to the Crow vs. Crow panel.

A nifty extra The Final Sacrifice would make my day, but something tells me that’s the disc that the panel will be going on. It took a bit of wrestling to get the rights to it, so a miracle might have to happen to get any more from that crew. OR PERHAPS NOT! Who knows, Shout! has performed magic already, so maybe they can do it s’more.

The interview with the director is awesome, too. He talks about how he knows it’s a s*#tty movie, how it all came about, that’s he’s an MST fan, and wants to hear from MST fans…even gives his email account. Gotta love it.

Man, Shout is REALLY coming through with great extras on these sets. I want to commend them on doing such a GREAT job so far. Especially digging a bit deeper to get “Final Sacrifice” to us. Shout is really tuned into what fans want and that’s awesome.

Now, I have hope for “Deathstalker”.

Since they included both version of 701, I wish they would include the actual mst hour episodes as bonuses and not just the wraps. And yes I know some of the episode was cut in the mst hour versions to fit the wraps in but for completists sake (and mst hour episode collectors…if there is anyone besides me on this boat I’d be interested to know) this would be a great bonus.

My guess for the More? Final Sacrifice subtitles for the Rowsdower Impaired…

And Canadian beer is not skunky. Well, not all of it, anyway…

Honestly I’m just happy that Final Sacrifice is coming to DVD at all. I was worried that my tape was going to die (which is what happened to my poor beloved Track of the Moon Beast).

Looking forward to Crow v Crow.

Best thing about the SHOUT! releases: They actually tell you what discs the Extras are on! Spent the better part of an hour last night trying to find the ‘Outtakes’ reel on an old Rhino set… (Note: TEENAGE STRANGLER…)

Pre-ordered. Maybe the Final Sacrifice extra is a virtual tour Rowsdower’s truck? Or maybe a DVD game or Rowsdower throwing those Molotov cocktails at the Ziox guys Gran Torino?

Sweet! That’s great we’ll be getting more MST3k Hour segments, plus I really look forward to the Joel introduction and Crow vs. Crow bit. And just having things like trailers/promos and photo galleries makes these sets that much better. Woot!

    35. Faruk Alatan says:

I have a question to everyone:

Remember the Shout Factory people went to a convention/presentation in New England where Joel and Trace spoke about the designs of MST3K? It was supposed to be an extra on one of the sets, but then it was switched out for something else (Hamlet A.D.D.?)

Does anyone know what happened to that or when it might turn up? I was really looking forward to that feature.

Finally, the obligatory kudos to Shout Factory, they offer a panoply of extras and other treats to go along with their blitzkrieg of movie set releases.

Looking forward to finding out what happened to that proposed extra…

      @35

Someone please correct me if I’m wrong, but I remember that being taken off the set for some sound quality issues. Hope was held out that it could be cleaned up for a future release though.

Unless it was just my imagination running away with me.

Is there any word on the when/if of a non-limited edition of XVI? I guess I’m not a dyed-in-the-wool MSTie, because I’d rather save a little scratch than have a Servo.

Just pre-ordered mine using the link as well. I’m soooooooo looking forward to this set coming out, and the fact that it was announced even before Volume XVI was out in stores shows SF can keep the titles coming when they apply themselves/spend more money on securing rights. Nice job Jordan, Brian and Co.!

    41. Bob(NotThatBob) says:

I think a great extra that would go along great with the release of the very first episode would be that little 10 or 15 minute “Green Slime” clip used to sell the show in the first place. Are there expensive rights issues when one only uses a clip from a movie and not the whole thing?

@41..I agree totally about the mini posters.I’d rather they would use that money on another extra instead of a replica of the dvd covers.Give us the following: PEOPLE TRAPS with Trace..THE TV WHEEL and STATICAL PLANETS with Joel..the summer movie previews they did on Sci-Fi..the list goes on..

In hindsight, instead of the Servo figure, do you think they could have come up with a small sized version of “Rockem’ Sockem’ Robots” with Santa and Pitch instead? That would’ve made this the best Christmas ever…

the Amazon site has changed – maybe mst3kinfo can update the link? here is the current link:

      http://www.amazon.com/Mystery-Science-Theater-3000-XVII/dp/B0030ATZHQ

Why the $10 price increase? XVI was $42 and XVIII is $53.

Amazon canceled my preorder and is now offering it for $56.99 instead of $41.99. Poor customer service. There’s even a link to their price guaranty policy in the email saying they won’t honor the price.
