We can we see a CITS III?

Can someone who gets this with an iPhone see if the make ringtone thing works? I’ve only bought one album off iTunes (Amazon’s better) and it doesn’t let me make a ringtone off it.

I have both CDs but this is still good news. Until now I personally saw nothing wrong with someone “illegally” downloading these albums since they weren’t actually available legitimately from Best Brains anymore, and I could care less about the people exploiting others for profit by selling them on places eBay for a lot of money. But that’s changed now with this development. Now people can buy them and have the money actually go to the people who deserve it, so they should do that.

Also I genuinely feel sorry that beth @#3 doesn’t know what “Clowns in The Sky” is, so I will explain it to her now. “Clowns in The Sky” 1 and 2 were two CDs released many moons ago that contained many (but not all) of the songs from MST. The second one was released before the show ended so it doesn’t include any songs from the last (or is it last two?) seasons, which is why Tor Johnson requested a “Clowns in the Sky 3” above. Both CDs were originally sold only through the MST fanclub, and have been out of print for years. Until now the only way to get them was to buy extremely over priced old copies from places like eBay, or acquire them via the less reputable ways that the internet provides. But now apparently they have started selling them on iTunes meaning that for the first time in years there is a legitimate and affordable way to get the albums. This link will not download anything, it will simply open up your iTunes app should you have it and take you to the iTunes store page for the albums. From there you can choose to buy them or not.

There needs to be a fan campaign to make “Toobular Boobular Joy” the #1 track on Itunes. If only for a day.

Call me square, but I’d love to have a physical copy of this too. I was able to pick up Clowns in the Sky II just last year on the MST3K site, but I wouldn’t mind having them both.

  10. I picked up the second CD from the MSTie Mall but was too late to buy the first back in the day, so this pleases me greatly.

Just got it. In response to #2 yes you could make a ringtone that way but they want I think two bucks for it. Doing it manually will work on at least these tracks as it now does a 15 second bit of “Hobgoblins”. You can figure out how to manually do it on google somewhere though all you require is i-tunes.

idiot. I know full well what clowns in the sky is. I bought their cds back in the ’90s when they first became available.
what I meant was, when clicking on the link, i get a “download” page. I want to know what I’m downloading first!

    don’t be so damn obnoxious.

cronkite idiot-shot aside, I tried the link on another computer, and this time got the itunes webpage.
    Again, no thanks.
I bought the cds when they first became available and ripped them onto my computer, so no need to buy them again.

Technical question- does iTunes offer DRM-free MP3s? I have never shopped there but I hear they do not- that all they sell is DRM-addled files. I won’t buy those.

iTunes made all their songs DRM-free over a year ago.

Beth, I think Cronkite was just trying to help. Thanks to RT and CT, there’s a whole generation of MSTies who are totally unaware of ANY MST3k merch (Save what’s listed at Satellite News).

The link opens iTunes. If you don’t have iTunes, then the link downloads iTunes so you can see what the link originally intended. So while it’s a totally safe dl, if you aren’t intending to download any of the songs, it’s pretty much a waste of time.

Me, I’m waiting for it to show up on my Zune.

J Master: Why did he automatically think I didn’t know waht it was? Why didn’t he just ask what I meant?
I’m angry at the automatic assumption that I didn’t know what it was.

MstJon: Thanks. That’s the kind of response I prefer.

Beth, sweetie, before you decide to dump another badly typo’d insultathon on us, re-read your first post. It definitely sounds like the question of someone unfamiliar with the albums’ existence in the first place, not like a wary techie question. But since you don’t know what iTunes is even from the address visible with a mouse-over, I guess that would be a pseudo-techie question.

By continuing to reply angrily that we were somehow rude for thinking your question wasn’t supposed to be tech-savvy (which, BTW, it wasn’t) and pulling a fanner-than-thou attitude in all of your non-thanks posts, you’re really just proving how much of an ill-mannered punk you are and being, in your own words, “damn obnoxious”. It’s sad – every time I think that MST3k is the last decent fandom, another Beth comes along to disprove it.

Now it’s time for us kids today with the iPods and the Zunies and stuff to get some music.

Oh, is this turning into a “What Did Beth Mean?” Poll?

I thought her use of “this” stood for “Clowns In The Sky CD.” As in: Can you put more info as to what Clowns In The Sky is before we click to download?

J Master – That’s the kind of response I prefer.

I’m thinking Beth just didn’t know what itunes is, considering she already had them both ripped to her computer and didn’t need to buy them again.

So yeah, beth563 = the rudest poster I’ve ever seen on this site since Jesusthinksyourajerk. I’ve never before seen such an incredibly knee jerk reaction of anger before to what was merely helpful information. And I think Cronkite only “felt sorry” for you because maybe he only rightly/wrongly assumed you’re a more recent fan and was “sorry” to think you’d missed out on the CDs. But I guess I can’t speak for him because unlike you, most of us here don’t assume the ability to read others’ intent, let alone their minds when vague statements are made.

Too expensive for me at a dollar a track. $45 bucks is what I’m used to paying for the volume sets (through patient shopping, that is). I would buy the unused movie theme if they put it up, though.

I could go for a Volume 3 as well – as long as they also included the songs that aren’t already on Vols 1 & 2.

i don’t have itunes so i can’t see their page in a ready to buy mode, but it says something about $15.99 under the album art listing both I and II on the cover. maybe this means that you can buy both albums for $15.99 rather than the $45 one would spend if buying all tracks individually? don’t know but might be worth looking into, eh? anywho i am not as tech savvy yet as i should be and would greatly prefer regular cd to mp3 as neither my house stereo or my husbands car play mp3s and he would listen to it constantly in his car if he could. still at least i can listen to it on my computer now! i too had went to buy it too late and ended up with only album II, i knew of it before then, but was a very broke student and even at its rather cheap price could not afford it before it was too late. YAY silly songs!
